DME and Transportation at WDW?

I have a couple of friends that will be going to WDW during spring break. Since we always rent a car and have never had to rely soley on Disney Transportation. I told them I would ask how efficient it is.
How long do you have to wait for DME?
Do the buses run only from the resorts to DTD and the parks, but not from resort to resort?
How efficient are the buses at that time of year? I would imagine they are pretty crowded!

DME is pretty efficient. It takes, on average, about 70 minutes from deplaning to your resort. I like it a lot.
As far as the WDW transportation questions...yes, there are buses to all the parks from each resort, and back again. Buses from each resort go to DTD as well. The buses do not go from resort to resort though. And yes, it tends to get crowded at the spring break time period. If you are used to renting a car, and having one at your disposal, you may want to continue to do so if getting from resort to resort is a concern.

The 'wait' for Magical Express depends on a variety of conditions, most especially NEED. On the unusual chance that there's only one bus immediately available (and there are DME buses arriving all the time) and one resort has 53 Guests waiting while four other resorts combined have a total of fifteen Guests waiting for a ride, chances are the larger need will be handled first. Remember, there are NO set times or routes for Magical Express.

Yes, buses do not run from resort to resort (except on shared routes, such as the five Epcot-area deluxe resorts, or the bus shared by the two sections of Port Orleans - but the POINT of the bus system is to transport Guests between their own resorts and the various parks)

The Disney transportation system - including buses, boats and monorails - is equally efficient 365 days a year.
