OK...I need the DIS for this one:

We're thinking of flying stand-by for a quick trip in August. I have made ressies at WL, so normally we would take DME. Flying stand-by, we can check our luggage (but if we don't get on the flight, the luggage goes anyway and if it ends up "lost" and is routed to MCO later, they don't bring it to us). I'm trying to figure out if we can still use DME flying stand-by.

I will be able to give DME our "best guess" for our flight numbers and will be able to put the tags on our luggage with WL on them. Even if we don't make the flight (and the luggage goes without us), the luggage should be pulled by DME because it is tagged, right?

When we make a flight, then we should still be able to use our DME tickets, I would think as flight times do get delayed for revenue flights anyway, right? In this case, I'm thinking all that will happen is the the luggage may already be at WL before we get there to check in.

Now, going back....we may need to take it with us since we won't know what flight we're returning on either.

Thoughts?

For DME on the way down and you only have "open" or "standby" tickets -- Your yellow tagged luggage will still magically appear in your room.

For DME going home and you only have "open" or "standby" tickets -- Reserve any DME time back to the airport you want; make the reservation at least a day in advance.
