Ok, so I go into my disney experience to book magical express and I find it ...nowhere. So I setup a chat with a cast member and find out that one cannot book DME usng MDE.

So whats so great about MDE if you can't even book DME on it ? I thought MDE was suppose to be this "one stop shopping" for everything involving your Disney trip !!!

Your resort, park tickets, party tickets, and dining all show up in once place. Plus you are able to chose your FP+ picks. And order your Magic Bands. Once you have everything in place it will all, including Magical Express, show up on your Magic Bands.

Are you seriously going to worry/complain because you couldn't set up DME on MDE? That is just not a big deal. DME should be set up at the same time that you book your resort stay. DME doesn't have to have flight info for your arrival, just your departure!
You can't book your resort stay on MDE either. It isn't good for everything!

MDE is promoted as a one stop shop. Everything relating to your Disney trip that is arranged through Disney should be there in my opinion.

I made MDE reservations, its listed in the booklet I received in the mail. But it does not show up anywhere online that I can find. I also had to google search for the website to book MDE under. Could not find a way to book it otherwise as it was not listed on my package reservation screen when I originally booked the trip.

It's not a big deal for me but would be nice if everything was on MDE. Of course, I had no trouble using the old system and it wasn't quite as buggy!

This is something I'm curious about too. I set up ME the other day. Will this somehow show up in MDE? Will the Magic Bands be needed at the ME check-in area at MCO?

Just wondering what to expect for the trip. I wasn't expecting to do ME on the MDE website. I understand that reservations are made, and then MDE is the area that has all the resv's in one spot. However, should we expect the check-in area at MCO to be any different than in the past, prior to MDE and Magic Bands?

Thanks.

I called and made the dme reservation, it showed up on mde right after. Since the bands are new and still be tested in some fashion, I expect there to be some bumps and changes as it moves forward. But I am excited to use. I have hotel revs, DVC reservations, AP, and ME rests, as well as dining rests. I can view it all on mde and can look at my photo pass from Xmas, and will be making fp+ when I am eligible to for my next trip in April.

While there can be frustrations, the moble app killed my cell battery and was extremely slow over Xmas, I'm sure it will improve. So you are correct as of today you can not book mde through it, (might be on the checklist still, or working through issues since mde is contracted with mears) still kind of neat from a vacation standpoint.

The Magic Bands can be used to check in at ME but are not required. You can still use the coupons in your packet mailed to you or just give your name and they'll look it up, same as always.

You need to use different 'terms' here.......DME is disneys magical express. MDE is my Disney experience. It gets confusing if you use MDE interchangeably.

Any way....sure, all your stuff is pretty much on your MB. I'm not sure why you have to 'see' DME there. If you got your packet from DME, you're good to go.
You can use the MB at the airport, or you can use your printed vouchers.
As far as how to book DME? You're really better off just calling whoever you booked your stay with. The simplest way to do it.

I ran into this issue today too. It was a little annoying but not overly inconvenient to pick up the phone and call to get DME set up. Would be nice if that did show on your my disney experience, though, given if you google 'disney magical express', you can be lead to a Disney hosted page that tells you that you can add a DME reservation in your MDE 'my reservations' section.

Oh wellz

I know everyone is telling me to just call DME and make my reservations, but I can't do that...cause,I don't have a reservation number.

I am staying at the GF for a convention and apparently everything has to go through the convention travel desk. Booking DME through them is only permitted 14 days prior to the convention so I guess I will just have to wait another few weeks b/4 I can book DME.

I am the type that likes to have everything done ahead of time and waiting until 14 days out to make my DME reservations does not fit my DNA.

I called and set up our DME on the phone earlier today with our flight numbers. I thought the phone rep said it would be updated on MDE but I don't see anywhere on My Disney Experience to indicate whether or not we have DME set up.

Is there someplace that would show this on MDE?

thanks

I set it up online myself at www.mydisneyreservation.com

I had my tags 5 days later, which was 186 days before arrival lol.

It then showed up on my MDE profile, under the "My Reservations" section as "Ground Transportation: Disney's Magical Express".

Sent from my iPad using the DISBoards app.

I've heard they show up in the MDE site, but the reservations I made earlier today have yet to show up there. Perhaps there is some lag time in having things show up?

It'll show up on MDE, if you are logged in, under the "My Reservations" section. Below all your resort info, it'll say something like "Ground Transportation: Disney Magical Express." There may be lag time of 24 hours or so but shouldn't be any more than that.

That's a 'horse of a different color' then...when booking for conventions, all bets are off. That's a whole different thing. If you don't have a reservation number, there is no way you're going to be able to book DME..it's tied to that number.

Unfortunately, mine is still not showing up. I'll call to reconfirm when I get a little closer to my trip.
