Hi all,

We have an 8:00 am flight home and will be riding DME from BWI. Will we be able to check our bags at BWI or will we need to carry them with us to the airport? If we need to carry them, can we check one or both of them the night before instead?

We are travelling with our DS2 and not having to wrestle big suitcases and him at the same time is a big bonus to DME for us.

Thanks,

Adam

You are going to have to take your bags on the bus and check them at the airport. You can use Resort Airline Check-in (which is a separate service from DME) as early as 12 hours before your flight, but the RAC desk is only open until 1:00 p.m. so you won't be able to do it the night before. In addition, you have to have the check-in process completed no later than three hours before your flight and the desk doesn't open until 5:00 a.m., so the morning won't work either.

That's what I was afraid of. Maybe our flight will get rescheduled 15 minutes back.

Thank you.

15 minutes may not help you because you need to have your bags checked (if you are doing) and be at the ME bus stop 15 minutes before your scheduled depature time. You departure time will be somewhere between 3:15-2:45 before your flight.

So even if you have an 8:30a departure, your ME pickup could be at 5:15am, which means you should be ready (including having bags checked... COMPLETELY) by 5am.

If they push the departure to 9am, I think you'll be better off.

Probably will need for it to go back later than that. Your bus pick-up time will be about 5:00 a.m. and you should be at that location 10-15 minutes ahead of time.

On a similar note -- sorry I hijacked this thread... I thought I created a new one. :)

A couple years ago we had a much later afternoon flight and I recall I was on hold for quite awhile with the baggage # to pay the baggage fees. The baggage phone # hours are 7 am to 11 pm -- resort check in is 5 am - 1 pm, but it's my understanding baggage fees must be paid prior to that.

So I'm assuming we'll need to be waiting for our bus around 6 am, so we could call the night before and get the baggage fees paid and then DH can do resort check in right away in the morning when they open (5 am).

Any other suggestions or will that work just fine.
