This comes up from time to time, so I figured I'd throw it out there for anyone who hasn't seen it.

DME lowered the age to ride without an adult to 12 from 16.
I have to say I am a bit surprised. I have a pretty savvy and mature 11 year old and I'm on the fence about whether or not I'd be comfortable with her navigating MCO by herself. OTOH, I have a 15 year old and he'd be fine and probably would have been at 12 as well.
To me, it would have made more sense to have the age be 14, since that is now their age to enter the parks alone as well as ride with someone under the age of 7. Some consistency across the board would be nice. Now it's 10 and you're an "adult" for food and passes, 12 and you're an "adult" for DME and 14 and you're an "adult" for the parks.
