DLRP hotels and annual passports...

Oh, I'm so confused!! I am thinking about getting an annual passport (the best one, the Dream one?), but I am not sure how it will work...We're thinking about going back the end of next month, staying at either Cheyenne or Sequoia Lodge - will I need to book the room AND tickets, or call and book room only? Also, is it worth it? I go about 4 times a year for 3-4nights at a time :D

Please help - sorry I'm sure there's loads of annual passport questions like this on the board already!!

Thanks guys :bounce:

If you go for more than one visit per year my guess is you would be saving. We're definitely going to buy them for our two upcoming trips (Oct and Jan). But might go for the cheaper ones as we don't intend on travelling on any blackout dates. We're buying at the gate to get shareholder discount so I can't really help with your query about booking accomodation at the same time.

If you go for several visits a year then I would say annual passes would definitely be worth it. :goodvibes

If you want to stay at a Disney hotel you'll have to book a package with tickets as you aren't able to book room only at a Disney hotel until you have your annual pass. Have you considered booking room only at one of the off-sites ie. Holiday Inn, Explorers?

I have very briefly looked at prices for those ones - it just seems a bit expensive for 2 people for room only - correct me if I'm wrong as I may have been looking during peak season!

Is there a link anywhere for where i can compare the annual passports?

Has anyone booked a room at a DLRP resort using an annual pass discount lately? If so, would they care to share month/hotel/rate?

I have downloaded the annual passholder brochure so am aware of the discount percentage, and then went to Expedia.co.uk, but when I check out the rates there and apply the discount, the prices actually seem to work out a little better if I book on DLRP site directly, and go for one of the 4=3 etc offers.

(I was considering a 5 or 6 night stay in October/November for example....)

We always book at the Explorers so can't help with a rate but I do remember a poster saying once that it worked out cheaper for her to purchase a package (with tickets she had no use for) than to book a room-only stay with her annual pass discount. :earseek: Guess it all depends which hotel and what time of year you want to go.... :confused3

Remember that if it is a Disney hotel the price on Expedia will include park tickets. To get a room-only rate at a Disney hotel you have to have an AP and then phone for rates. That's why lots of AP holders stay offsite at hotels like Holiday Inn, Explorers etc especially if it is their first time of buying an AP.

I think that the reduction may not be as impactful for a single room ie one traveller. I did see the rates on Expedia both with and without tickets; also tried the Eurostar site to see rates without tickets.

For some reason I can't seem to get through to the English language reserations line; will have to try German or French next if I can't succeed.... will keep everyone posted with the price if anyone is interested, though...

Oh, and on a side note, as we saw last winter season, the offers differ based on country of origin on the DLRP website - for instance, choosing 'German' this time around offered the 4=3 etc offers further into the fall season...
