Just got this from a news site in The Netherlands:

Disneyland Resort Paris employee died.

A 53 year old male employee of It's a small world died while working he was cleaning It's a small world when the attraction suddenly started.
He got stuck under one of the boats.
He was transported by helicopter to a hospital where he died.
The attraction It's a small world will be closed as long as the police investigation takes place.

:(

That's awful. I hope there's an investigation into why the ride suddenly started in what I guess was the middle of the night.

My prayers to his family.

what I guess was the middle of the night.
It was before dawn this morning.

This is from the AP (Associated Press) site:

PARIS (AP) -- Police say a cleaning man at Disneyland Paris amusement park has died after a ride he was working was accidentally turned on.

The 53-year-old employee of a park subcontractor was severely injured while working on the "It's A Small World" attraction and taken by helicopter to a hospital where he died.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the worker got trapped beneath a boat on the ride when it was inadvertently turned on before dawn Wednesday.

A Disneyland Paris spokesman said the ride has been closed until further notice as the police investigation continues.

The park is one of Europe's biggest tourist attractions.

This is so awful..

My Thoughts and Prayers go to his family, so did it saw the ride started? :O thats strange

How does the ride start "suddenly"? Something sounds fishy to me.

So horrible! My thoughts go out to his family.

I'm with Mike though, I guess I've watched too much CSI-type tv.

How terrible...my prayers go out to his family.....I wonder also how the ride could just suddenly start....hmmmm

Sending thoughts and prayers for his family as well.

One downer thing about the internet is that when these accidents happen, and everyone knows, now it is in your head next time you ride the ride. takes a bit away from an attraction that is about happiness.

Please dont jump on me, cause i am soo not making a joke or light about this.

if something like this were to happen at the haunted mansion. not only would the situation be tragic, but it would ruin the whole "we have 999 happy haunts and are looking for one more" thing. they would have to change the whole ride, because it would be way over the top to keep that knowing a guy died.

Poor man, what a tragedy. Love and peace to his family and friends.

Sad news indeed.

And I to have to take it a different direction. When I heard it was small world, all I thought about was one of the Kingdom Keepers books...

Thats soo sad disney is suppose to be the happiest place on earth, such a tragic thing to happen. My prayers go out to the family
