DLR was crowded today!

We just got back from spending a few hours over at DLR and it seemed really crowded! I guess we're heading toward peak season now.

I will say I'm getting a little nervous about our trip next week. March has never been busy for us when we go......but seems lately all I've read about is the park being really busy.

I'm starting to think that "off season" only means some things are down for refurbishment. It doesn't seem to refer to crowds anymore. I keep hearing how busy it has been. I wonder if that means it will be even more crowded this summer (I thought last summer was nice) or if everyone is going now instead.

It is just pouring here today. Guess the rain hasn't made it down there yet or it wouldn't have been so crowded.

I think you're right about the new definition of "off season". It will be interesting to compare the crowds today, being a weekend but before most spring breaks have started, with the crowds when we go on April 6 which is a Monday but during peak spring break season.

Oh and the line just getting into the parking garage was worse than we've ever seen it but we did arrive later than we meant to (around 10:30am). I guess we were being typical locals and showing up too late after park opening. I like to get there first thing but it just wasn't happening this morning.

The forecast this morning said a chance of rain this aftenoon and it was cloudy all day so we were really hoping it would scare some people away but no such luck. It sprinkled a little as we were driving home but we didn't see any rain while we were there.

We still had fun but we just didn't go on as many rides as we would have liked to. We got to go on the IASW though and we liked it but DH didn't like the way Flounder and Ariel looked. We also got to do a little survey afterward about how we liked it, did we see anything new, what didn't we like, etc.

I was there this morning too...and I was surprised by the crowds. Here are my 2 hypotheses:

1. Convention
2. First weekend not raining in last 2 weeks.

Since everyone is spending less and saving more due to the recession, they are all saving to SPLURGE at DLR!

It was very crowded at Storytellers for late breakfast. Possibly because of the closing of the park this morning.

So does anyone know what the issue was this morning? We were waiting at the security check area for about 45 minutes before they allowed anyone else in.

So does anyone know what the issue was this morning? We were waiting at the security check area for about 45 minutes before they allowed anyone else in.

There was a questionable white powdery substance found near and around the ticket booths. They called Anaheim police and the substance was found harmless before they reopened security and the ticket booths.

How funny - we left the park around the same timeframe! That's yet another time we have passed in broad daylight!!!!!
