DLR visit yesterday (Thursday Oct 22)

Spent the day at DL/DCA yesterday with DW and two of our grandkids (we're all AP holders).

Drove up from San Diego and arrived at the DL front gates at about 8:30. They opened the gates at 8:50 and we waited at the hub end of Main Street for rope drop at 9:00. Rode Space Mt first (walk-on). The Halloween version was fun, though it did spook my 7yo granddaughter just a bit. The Halloween changes include a different sound track, lighting changes and monsters projected on the walls/ceilings during the ride. 12yo grandson loved this version.

Crowd levels were very manageable. Got on all the biggies with waits of 10 minutes or less. Only used fastpasses once or twice all day. Our longest wait was for Toy Story at DCA, and that was 20 minutes at about 1pm. Funny story about that one- Upon exiting the ride, DW absent-mindedly dropped her sunglasses into the bin and walked outside with the 3D glasses in her hand instead. Once she realized her error, she sought assistance from one of the CMs out front who was able to go in and retrieve her sunglasses.

BTW, I forgot to mention our meals. We ate lunch at Redd Rockett's Pizza Port. All of us got the Chicken Fusilli Pasta. Anyone else notice that they seem to be putting in less chicken? DW and I noticed this on our last two visits to this eatery.
Since the kids had to get home at a resonable time for school the next day, we left the park at about 6pm and grabbed dinner at Mimi's on Harbor Blvd. Food quality slipped a bit since our last meal here (back in December), but still a good meal at a reasonable price.

...We reported a few weeks ago that portions of several entrees at the Plaza Inn had been reduced, and it looks like Red Rocket's Pizza Port and Pizza Oom Mow Mow have also implemented a similar practice. The portions of the pasta dishes at both restaurants have been reduced by about a third, though the salads and pizzas appear unchanged for now. A group of MousePlanet staff members ate at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port this weekend and all noted that the chicken fusilli entrees were topped with only three or four small pieces of chicken; the cast members on the serving line said that this was the new portion. When asked, a restaurant manager said that the change in portions was made to accommodate "more health-conscious guests." Unfortunately for budget-concious guests, the price of the entrees have not decreased along with their serving size.

Health conscious....HA then put in more lean chicken breast meat and less pasta! and throw on a side of cooked veg or salad.... Maybe if everyone complains, both on site and in writing something will happen?
OOps should have said...that sounds like a great day Wdwrich.... we can't wait till our grand daughters are old enough to travel alone with us! the 2 oldest are only 5 and 3, so a bit too young yet!

sounds like it was a great day to visit! I dont mind about the chicken because it prefer it without lol I never eat it but love the pasta
