Hoping my local L.A. Disboard friends can help me out here.
On Monday May 7th I am planning to spend the day at DL and then have to be at Dodger stadium for a 7:10 game.
Being a Monday afternoon/evening, what time should I plan to leave DL to make it to the stadium for say 6:30?
Also any suggestions on the best route would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
CPC

I'd say leave the park at 4pm, It will give you time to get to the parking lot, then about 2 hrs to get to downtown LA on the 5 North. Traffic is a nightmare

I would say 4:00 is a good time. No later than 4:30. Traffic will be a crawl up around the 710 and 60 interchanges, and beyond to Stadium Way. I'm not sure if there is a better route than the 5. Since Dodger's Stadium is right off the 5. No matter what, you will be going passed L.A. unless you take a freeway completely out of the way, and I'm not sure that it's worth it. You also might be able to take the 110, and get off from there to the stadium. We never go that way, so I'm not sure where you would get off there. I hope this helps.

If there's more than one of you, take I-5N to 91E to 110N. You will have carpool lanes the entire way, probably never hit much traffic until downtown. Will take less than an hour. I usually do it in 35 minutes.

Don't wear your SF Giants jersey and you will be fine. They have beefed up security after the horrible incident last year. It has been a while since I have been there for a game, but some heated rivalries will always be heated rivalries.

We were hoping to take in a Sunday game but we were thinking of taking the train. How easy is that to do from DL?

MAH4546 - Thanks for the reply and reminding me. I should have said in my OP that there will be 4 of us in the car so I would definitely like to take a route that includes carpool lanes.
Also looking at that route you mentioned, I assume you mean take the 91W after the 5 and not 91E?

Thanks so much for your help.

Dodger stadium has mellowed out after last year and especially since the crowd level dropped off. If you buy cheap seats, just don't wear the opposing teams colors.

Save yourself the drive/traffic headache, plus see a better baseball team right there in Anaheim. Go Angels!

Seeing the Angels the day before. Thanks though.

Can anyone else confirm for me that if I take the 5 north from DLR to the 91W and then to the 110N that this route consists of carpool lanes for the majority of the drive?
Or if anyone else has other suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, if you take the 5 north -> 91 west -> 110 north you will be in mostly carpool lanes.

I live about 2 minutes from where the 91 and 110 intersect, so know the area well, and it is the route I would recommend also.

Take the 5North and get in the carpool lane right away. There is a carpool lane exit to the 91. Stay in the carpool lane until it ends on the 91. The 110 interchange is at the end of the 91 freeway. You'll see the signs and can start merging to the right at that time. When you get on the 110, get in the carpool lane again.

On the 110, the carpool lane is above the freeway for a short while. Pay attention to stay on the freeway and not take the exit from the carpool lane. You will pass the 10 (Santa Monica) freeway, and the 101 (Ventura/Hollywood) freeway. The Dodger Stadium exit is past Downtown, and past the 101 freeway.

Does the 5 have carpool lanes for all or most the distance between DLR and downtown/Dodger stadium?

Any help is appreciated.

The 5 only has a carpool lane for a few miles after you leave DLR. Personally I would just stay on the 5 all the way.
Taking the 91 west to the 110 takes you all the way southwest of downtown L.A. and you have come back to drive through L.A to get to the north/east of downtown, but it would probaby be a pretty smooth drive. There are carpool lanes all the way up until you hit downtown, but once you hit downtown, the carpool lane goes away and I believe you will not have one the rest of the trip. That is when the traffic is going to be a nightmare. But by that point you will be a few miles form Dodger Stadium.
On the 5, you stay east of L.A. the whole time. You never go through downtown, and I believe you won't hit too bad of traffic until you hit the east L.A. interchange (5-710-60-10). Then you will be hitting the traffic leaving L.A.
Unfortunately because Dodger Stadium is north/east of downtown you will be hitting traffic no matter what freeway you take.
