My DNiece Katrina (almost 4) and I arrived at LAX about 12 noon. We just missed the Disneyland Express Bus (we had to wait for the luggage). We waited at the bus stop for almost 30 min, then we were on our way to the motel. It was stop #3 out of 4.

We checked into the motel and were put in a room on the first floor. I requested a king bed and I received it. The room was nice-fold out sofa, desk, bedside tables, bed, entertainment unit, microwave and fridge with freezer. The bathroom had a shower curtain that archs so you have more room. We were happy with the location and the amentities! We did not use the pool, didn't even look at it! Katrina did not want to go swimming!

I loaded up the fridge and freezer with some bottled water and juice boxes, before we went to DL! I had them in my suitcase-this came in handy at the end of the trip as we had to find room for all the souveniers.

We arrived at the ticket booth and were given our 5 day park hoppers. The CM said we had 2 EE days! I was surprised (We booked thru FunSun Vacations). We then headed for DL! We went to City Hall to get Katrina a First Trip button. We then continued up main street and had our photos taken with the PhotoPass photographers. Some how we managed to find ourselves at Pirates of the Carribean. My niece did not like that ride and did not even want to go over to the pirates lair on Tom Sawyer Island. PotC was not the ride I had wanted to take her on first. I managed to get us back on track and we went and rode IASW.

(I'm going to have to write the rest later after I get a hold of her Diary, I can't remember all of the things we did)

Sorry, it is taking so long my sister took off with Katrina shortly after we arrived home. Katrina went on another vaccation up north with her parents. I will try and get her diary tomorrow evening!

15 years is too long! I will have to visit more often. I can say that I still love WDW more, but DLR is a lot closer and it is a lot cheaper to visit! With more money being spent on DCA maybe DLR will become my favorite!

It sure was nice not having to wait for buses! I really liked how close BWPPI was to DLR. Make sure you get a receipt if you eat at GCH and want to enter into DCA using the hotel entrance. Storytellar's did not give me one and I had to return twice (receipt and for the character buttons).

Really?? I have never had a problem coming back to the parks thru the GCH entrance :confused3 We normally have lunch at whitewater snacks and they have never asked for a receipt for re-entry at the turnstiles...

I think your fine after 12:30. We didn't spend much time eating.

On the first day, we also stopped for a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich. That is the only thing Katrina talked about before the trip. I had to get her one!

We had dinner at Redd Rockets Pizza Port in Tommorowland. We shared a cheese pizza and I bought a diet Coke. I lost part of a molar that had a filling while eating the pizza. Luckly, it didn't make the tooth sensitive to cold and it wasn't sharp.

We also walked onto Space Tours-maybe 1 min wait in the loading area. Katrina liked this ride and said she would ride it again, it was only a little scary.

We took the train from TL to Main St and then walked around DTD. Katrina added a mini Tinkerbell dress up doll to her now complete set (Unless they make more!).

Day Two - Nemo (Wednesday)

Katrina woke me up at 6:30am. We got dressed and went for the continental breakfast. We had cereal and then some toast. We also tried a doughnut. Katrina had apple juice and I had OJ.

We arrived at DL 30 min. before opening and it didn't look like we were going to get to Nemo with a short wait. We didn't even stop to get a Times Guide or Park Maps. I walked quickly up Main St. We were back maybe 8 rows. As soon as the CM let us go I walked/ran as fast as I could. Katrina stayed in the stroller while I made my way around the Matterhorn. I ended up going up on the right side-I know everyone said to go left, but nobody was stopping us. There was a hold up at the entrance to Nemo-not sure what the problem was. People were cutting the line and going under the ropes. I waited and followed the line and we were told by a nice family behind us (locals) that we should be on a sub in about 20 min. We actually had to wait 40 min because they had a mechanical problem with the ride and it took 20 mins. Katrina seemed to like the ride, when it went dark she got scared for a second.

We then went to the Matterhorn Bobsleds-not a favorite of Katrinas. We also rode Buzz and Splash. Katrina was a Junior Chef who didn't want to participate in making cookies as I had to be watching!

Katrina and I went over to DCA for our first time. The first ride we went on was Soarin'. Katrina seemed to be okay with the ride until the end when the fireworks go off. We went to A Bug's Land and rode all the rides. We went to Turtle Talk with Crush and Katrina liked that, she thought Crush was funny calling us Dudes! We rode on Monsters Inc, Katrina didn't like it much. We also did the Tortilla and Bakery Tours.

On our way out of DCA we stopped and each bought pieces for our Potato Heads. I have a daycare-I had to keep some of the pieces in the box as I didn't want the children to rip the stickers off! We managed to get quite a lot of pieces in the boxes. Still didn't get all of the pieces!

I walked back to BWPPI-Katrina in the stroller to drop off our purchases!

We went back to DL to watch the Parade of Dreams. It was so much fun watching Katrinas face as she saw the parade. We went back to ride Buzz again, twice actually.

at 7:45 we walked over to Autopia and got in line. It took a while for us to get to a car. As soon as we were in the car Katrina said she had to go to the bathroom. I asked the CM how long the ride was, he replied 2 min. I kept my foot on the gas almost the whole time! It took a few minutes for us to unload. Walked quickly to the nearest bathroom. Definately glad we did this ride near the end of the evening! It is quite slow moving!

We had a late dinner at IHOP. Katrina ate a grilled cheese with fries. I had an International Panekoe-can't remember German, it had lemon butter on it. It was good. Katrina ate free from the menu with my order as it was after 4:30pm.

Day 3 - Early Entry Day (Thursday)

We ate breakfast at BWPPI. We were at the gate at 9:00. We went into FL and went on Peter Pan-Katrina did not like it. We went on Dumbo, Teacups, Alice and IASW.

We went into Princess Fantasy Faire and listened to Cinderella telling a story how she became a princess.

We went into ToonTown and saw Goofy. Wandered around and looked at Donald's Boat, Chip and Dale's treehouse. We also went on Rodgers Cartoon Spin, Katrina didn't like this ride either.

We walked down to ride on Winnie the Pooh and Pooh was near the ride so we got in line and got photos and an autograph. At the store near there Katrina bought some Pooh honey and some Disneyland cookies.

We had lunch at New Orlean's Cafe and I ordered us the PB and J Monte Cristo and some fries. Katrina wouldn't try the Monte Cristo so she had fries for lunch. The Monte Cristo was okay, the fries were really good.

We walked over to DCA and watched the Brother Bear Totem Ceremony.

Then we went to watch Aladdin. Katrina fell asleep before it started and stayed asleep and I carried her out to the stroller.

Katrina woke up and we headed over to A Bugs World and rode on Francis' Ladybug twice and Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Flicks Fliers were closed.

We walked back to IHOP and Katrina had a fruit plate and I had a garden salad. We then had popcorn in our room later in the evening. We had an early evening as we were getting tired.

Day 4 (Friday)

We were at DL for the 9am opening. We went straight to the Jungle Cruise. Katrina who has been on boats before was scared. We went and played around at Tarzan's Treehouse and then went to the Tiki Room. Katrina really liked the Tiki Room.

We then went over to Ariels Grotto and saw Gepetto and a CM feeding the ducks. We spotted Peter Pan on the other side of the grotto, but we went the wrong way. Peter Pan was headed for the castle and we had to run to catch up to him. We went to FL and Katrina tried to get the sword from the stone. She really wanted to get it out so we waited for Merlin to come. Katrina didn't get picked so we went and had some pizza for lunch and tried again later- still no luck. We went to Ariel's Grotto and waited in line to get an autograph and photos. While we were waiting for Merlin a CM handed out a Tinkerbell pin to another lady, so I ran over and he gave me one for Katrina.

We went to DCA and Katrina fell asleep. I wandered around for a while and then went to Golden Dreams. I wasn't allowed to bring the stroller into the theatre so I waited until the doors opened and then carried Katrina in. She woke up and then announced that she had to go to the bathroom. So we found the nearest bathroom and then Katrina picked out Ariel's wedding dress in one of the shops. We went back to BWPPI and rested a bit and ate some snacks. I then ran Katrina back to DCA so that Katrina could see Aladdin. As soon as it was over I pushed Katrina over to watch the Block Party Bash. We were in the area for It's a bugs life! We didn't catch any of the Nerf balls, but a nice lady in front gave Katrina a yellow ball that she caught.

We then went over to DL and watched the parade again. This time Katrina wanted to get up and dance. Now I had her hooked!!

I'm sure we went on Buzz again! Then we went over to IASW to see the fireworks. I really had to explain the fireworks as she was still nervous after Soarin'. She was goofing around with the CMs pretending they couldn't see her in the stroller. I later learned that she gets goofy if she is over tired! She liked the fireworks. We did some more shopping as we had to leave tomorrow! We managed to get some gifts! It was a late night-Katrina fell asleep in the stroller on the way back to BWPPI. I tried to pack up as much as I could and finally went to bed at 12 mid.

Day 5 - Last Day (Saturday)

Katrina woke up at 7 and I gave her a bath and washed her hair. I finished packing our bags and Katrina got dressed in her Ariel dress. We ate some snacks as we had a PS for Storytellers.

We went to DL and bought 3 one dollar disney dollars: one for each of us and one for Katrina's little sister.

We rode Buzz two more times! Katrina bought an orange pen-her favorite color. Did you figure out that it's Tigger! Her other obsession is Keychains and I let her buy a Winnie the Pooh one, unfortunately I was in a rush and didn't even look at it and Pooh is hanging upside down-the rest of the characters are hanging okay.

On our way out of DL we saw Cruella and we stopped for her autograph-she didn't have time for a photo and we didn't either as we had to get to Storytellers for breakfast.

We saw Koda, Kenei, Baloo, Meeko, Chip and Dale. After I had the photos developed I noticed Koda was wearing a totem. I only saw the first Brother Bear, does anyone know why Koda has a totem? Katrina liked the mini chocolate chip muffins. The food was good-but with the heat we both weren't eating much. I didn't get a receipt and tried to get into DCA before the 12:30 pm time line and had to go back to the restraunt for one. I also didn't receive the Storyteller pins and had to make another trip back from DL.

We went into DCA and saw Bear in the Big Blue House. Katrina liked the show and collected only the orange streamers!

We then went back to DL and Katrina fell asleep on the way. I waited in FL for Merlin as Katrina still wanted to get the sword out. I woke her up and we waited but again she wasn't picked. Is there some kind of trick to this? She had her princess dress on and was wearing a hat with a 4th birthday pin.

We went back over to GCH to Storytellers and got our pins! Did some more shopping and then went back to BWPPI and got our luggage from the front desk and put our purchases inside them and waited out front for the Disneyland Express Bus.

We checked in and had to rearrange the luggage as my bag was too heavy. I wonder why with 3 mugs, 2 boxes of Potato Head parts and leftover juice boxes, pudding, jello and applesauce cups. Got all that sorted out and had to keep a ziplock bag with the last three items out of the luggage. Checked them through in another line and then went up to security. Katrina had to go to the bathroom again and we went back down again. I later found out the crackers she had been snacking on had milk in them! (Casinate) That is why we had so many bathroom trips at the airport. We found out Katrina is lactose intollerant just before the trip and I had lactaid pills for the trip.

We played with a balloon in the airport and ate some snacks. Security let me keep the ziplock full of snacks. We were in a larger plane heading home and we had an extra seat beside us. There was some problem with the map and the pilot had to shut the plane down and reset it before take off so we were 30 min late leaving the airport. Katrina fell asleep shortly after leaving LAX.

My sister and BIL were waiting for us at the airport. Katrina told them that she was hungry and that Nattie (me) wouldn't let her eat french fries. So not true! I did make her have the fruit plate one night for dinner as she had had so many fries for the other meals. My BIL went to McD drive through and got us fries and water. They forgot to give us straws for our 3 large waters-so that was interesting. It takes us an hour to get home.
