DLR in May

I'm sure that this is somewhere, but what can you tell me about DL in May...is it super crowded? What's the weather like? When are schools out? It looks like we might (keep your fingers crossed) be taking a short 3 day trip in the middle of May. Any info or anywhere you could send me for info would be really appreciated!

You all REALLY helped us out for our quick trip in Oct - my family couldn't stop thanking the DIS!

I looked at HydroGuys stuff (so informative!), but still wondering...

Is May not peak time yet? I know in WDW - it is packed!

We will be going the Sun-Wed before Memorial Day, so does that make it less crowded?
What about the Toy Story Mania ride, would it be open?
No fireworks during the week? Bummer, but we will have Sun, right?

I know these are pretty silly, so just excuse them as ramblings of a Midwesterner...TIA!

May is not peak time, but weekends are peak time year round.

Before the holiday weekend will be less crowded. Probably will also have shorter park hours and limited entertainment too.

TSM at DLR does not open until June 17. You may be lucky if they are doing soft opening/testing.

Check the schedule for fireworks. You can't have it both ways at DLR. If the crowds are less the entertainment will be less too. Usually Sundays have a full entertainment schedule.

We also are thinking of doing a short trip in mid May (18-20th).
But when I looked at HOJO's ent rate calendar they don't offer the good rate those days. Is there something going on down in Anaheim during this time?

May is usually less crowded than June, but if you are going on the weekends, be prepared for heavier crowds than during the week.
I am not sure whats going on in Anaheim during mid May, but I tried looking up reservations for the first weekend in May and many of the hotels were booked.

Were probably going to DL in May as well. The weather should be perfect!

Maybe it's the Food and Wine Festival at DCA? It started April 11th and ends May 5th. That would affect the first weekend in May.

I love to go to DLR in May. DD8 is off track the whole month and we plan on going at least a few times (or more!). Like PP have said, the weekends will be crowded-always are, but weekdays should be fine. There aren't any school holidays, except Memorial day, for the month.

We're going in May this year, the 16th through the 19th.. I love going in May and we go every year for my birthday.. The weather is great and the summer crowds aren't there yet..

We have been in May before and the weather ranged from mid 70's to a day of 90+ temps. Loved it!! Let's pack the shorts.

Very cool! We'll be there 25-29, staying at the HoJo, to celebrate our son's birthday!

I thought our first (and, so far, only) cruise on RCCL was fancy, but you're doing it up right! Someday I'll go on a repo cruise....

I'm going to be there the 16th, 19th and 20th. I heard that the crowds on the 16th will be horrendous due to the 2-fer ending but the 19th and 20th should be fairly quiet, as there's no real entertainment going on and it's a Monday-Tuesday, which are all-in-all the least crowded weekdays of the park.

I'm super excited...never been to Disneyland in May (only September-January) so it will be nice to be there in less than chilly weather, lol!

I'm going to be there the 17th-20th. I'm assuming the weekend will be crowded, but since I'm going to be there on Monday and Tuesday as well, I'm not worried.

We were there last year arriving the Monday before Memorial Day. The beginnig of the week wasn't too bad but as it got closer to the weekend it got much busier.

Thanks for the great info in this thread. I am going the 15th to the 19th of May. A little scared about the 2-fer info, but that might be the day to catch an Angels game and do a little shopping.

Going May 16th-May 25th can't wait! I think the crowds in May are especially before Memorial Day are less crowded then after Memorial day that's why I decided to go that week.

honestly...I don't care how many people are there...all I care is that MY FAMILY AND I ARE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!

Really, I do care, and I've heard it shouldn't be too bad. As far as the weather, if it isn't raining, I'll be HAPPY!! I'm ready for a break from the "spring" in Oregon!

Hubby and I are going for a weekend visit May 17 & 18th! I am super excited. We drove down (from seattle) in January and went last May. Hoping to go again Next january too! I cant get enough
