DLR Hotel Guests...no MM without a 3+ day PH?

We were planning to stay a night at the Grand Californian in 2 weeks. We're coming in from out of state for a wedding in San Diego, and will only have 2 days at DLR. So, we chose 1PPD tix.

But...did I just read that right? Even if we pay $670 for ONE night at the hotel, we will NOT be allowed into Magic Morning as resort guests simply because we will only have 2 day tickets?

You get early entry to DL or DCA on check in and departure day of any day you stay at one of the 3 onsite hotels. No minimum required.

That's what I thought, too (and I'm fairly certain that's exactly what we did last year when we stayed at GC), but this makes it look like, hotel guest or not, we have to have a 3+ PH ticket to attend Magic Morning. Am I reading it wrong? I'm waiting to chat with a rep, but it's a long wait.fullsizeoutput_15ee.jpeg

And this same description is at the bottom of the page on my hotel reservation page...

The early entry benefit for onsite guests is called Extra Magic Hour. The days in DL coincide with the Magic Morning, but you don't need a 3+ day ticket to access it. Just present your room key.

EMH at DCA is for onsite guests only.

OK, I see the issue. You don't get Magic Morning. You get EMH. EMH is the program for hotel guests that alternates between DL and DCA. Magic is the name of the early entry at DL for non-hotel guests with the correct 3 day ticket.

As others have pointed out, EMH and MM are two separate things. They sound "the same" but they aren't the same. EMH is for on-site hotel guests, and MM is for those who buy the correct 3-day ticket. Your EMH trumps the MM.

Another way to look at it: Those with EMH (on-site hotel guests) will be let in whatever park is designated for the day, no matter their ticket, as long as ticket and room key are valid. However, MM will only get you into Disneyland on certain days.

As mentioned above...you will get EMH on both check in and check out days...two entries for just the one night stay. You can check in as early as 6am on arrival day, they will hold your bags, give your your room key for EMH access then text you later with your room number when it is ready.

Same goes for parking...two full days for the one night charge.

Staying onsite, you are a Disneyland Resort HOTEL Guest (with the Extra Magic Hour benefit). Anyone visiting the parks is considered a Disneyland Resort Guest (and those with 3+ day tickets get a Magic Morning). Subtle and somewhat confusing but important naming distinction.
