DLR Half Marathon 2010

My Dad and Sis have both signed up for the race now too! It is going to be so much fun. I am trying to convince my SIL and friend to sign up too. I worry a little that I will tell them all how much fun it was and they will sign up and then they won't like it. Oh well.

For a moment I had dreams of staying in the Disneyland Hotel for this race, but it isn't going to happen. I think the whole fam will stay at Desert Inn. It is fun to all stay in the same hotel.

Just registered!! And the coupon code still works, so I can afford a pin too!

Booked a suite at the Grand Californian (DVC Rocks!!)!! And was able able to use the wife's frequent flyer miles for the plane tickets!! So all we need to do is save some freakin' spending money. Not to mention that we are going to Vegas the week after.

My DW & I's 1st "grownups only" vacation in 20 years. Should be fun! See ya there!!

I just booked the race too. Thanks so much for the discount code. It still works.

Well, I'm in! I finally registered (yea for the discount!) and booked a frequent flyer ticket. So I'll be there.

:cool1: Yea Maura!!! We are going to have an awesome WISH crowd kickin it in Cali!!

Hey where is everybody?

Just checkin in to see how everyone is doing!

I'm here. Though I haven't started training yet. :scared1: Been sick and have not gotten motivated yet. Hopefully once it warms up a little at starts staying light out longer I can get DBF to start jogging with me when I get home from work.

Bummer about Angels Stadium. I love baseball and would have liked to have done this. But since the race is so early--maybe we could still do it?

Maura

that was one of the best parts of the race. I loved the little scouts in the stands cheering us all on.

Did anyone do the 5K on Saturday before running the half? After all the Goofy talk, it seems like nothing, but I think I may try it as my "begining to train for the Goofy" officiall kick-off.

Cant wait for an amazing weekend. WOC should be in full force by then. Hopefully they will be shooting off the water as we run by.

And that reminds me...I would REALLY like to see Murphy (the F! dragon) out of his cave and cheering us on as we run by the Rivers of America. He doesn't have to be in AA moving around mode, but just chilling there would be cool!

Anyways...like 190 days left or something close to that.

Happy running!

I registered for DLR 1/2 last night. The discount code still works!!! Have already registered for Goofy 2011, oops make that Dopey, doing the 5K on Friday also.

I do hoope we get to run through Angels stadium again this year, that was sooo cool last year.:cool1:

Hi all!

I'm getting ready to head to DL on Friday! So excited it seems like it's been so long since I've been. Well actually it's only been a few months. :rotfl:

I just finished the Disney Princess and can't wait for this one. It will be interesting to see what the course is. They should release the map soon when the chat's start happening again. This will be the first time running this one as part of completing the Coast to Coast Challenge. I can't wait to get back to training after my two weeks off. I love the Hal Higdon Program on his website. I did the Novice training over and over for the Princess, and may up it a level this time. Granted, there is plenty of time for now until this race! I hope we don't have to be at the race as early as we did for the Princess.

Add me and DH to the list, we just finished the Princess Half and had a blast. It was my first half. I can't wait to see Disneyland and get the Coast to Coast Medal. I feel like a fish out of water concerning Disneyland. I know WDW like the back of my hand, we've been over 20 times. Does anyone have any tips or hints as far as travel, lodging, park touring? I think we have decided to stay at Californian Hotel. We haven't decided on length of stay, depends on airfare. For you guys that did it last year, how crowded were the parks since it is Labor Day weekend? Are you going to do your park touring days before or days after the race? Sorry with all of the questions. As you can see, I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!

Thanks!

Yay! I was hoping that a ton of people who ran the Princess Half would sign up for the Disneyland Half!! I hope it is as fun!! I am excited, but relieved that we have some time before it.
