DLR Dining. Biggest bang for your buck poll

Another vote for Big Thunder BBQ. Its all you can eat and they have entertainment on a small stage. Excellent ribs, chicken, sausage, salad, corn, rolls, beans etc. Really good desserts too! Found this to be a very good value for money especially with AP discount.

Like most places they have free drink refills. But whats different is that you can change drinks at any time at no charge. So you can start with a soda and then change to milk, hot coco or coffee etc.

Jazz Kitchen Express has really good cheeseburgers that are grilled fresh and are priced lower than say Taste Pilots (which to me is stale warming tray burgers).

For us, I think dinner at the round up BBQ, (not sure if that is exactly what it was called) was a great deal. Hubby actually got full there, and had enough meat to last awhile!

:thumbsup2

I think a good place is PLaza inn for the fried chicken! We got the adult meal, a salad and a desert for all four of us and we all were full...
Good idea about the Big Ranch BBQ about just getting dessert.. We were too full when we went for dinner, but the desserts sounded/looked good!

:thumbsup2

Yes, the BBQ is GREAT!! DBF and I will eat there (just the 2 of us, the girls don't like it so they eat something else and go to TSI while we are eating) and we get so full. We tend to eat there around 2-3 and that's all we eat all day, except a light breakfast and a snack later in the evening.
Plaza Inn, we share the fried chicken and add a small salad, plenty of food!

In DCA we love TPG, we all get full every time we eat there and there's something for all of us to enjoy. Also, AG is a good value for us, because the food is plentiful and enjoyable, we've never left hungry and a few times we've asked for extra food items (such as more salad, I had tri-tip once and DBF had the cioppino, he wanted some mashed potatoes so we asked and they brought them out with no problems) and we've always been happy with the end results. We also very much like the Lobster Nachos at the Cove Bar, big enough for 2 to share and priced well.

Best value - 1. Troubadour Tavern baked potatoe. Also the bratwurst, though not to the extent that the potatoe is. We got one of each and managed to fill up 4 people. DH and I are used to sharing meals, but still, pretty decent.
2. Goofy's Kitchen. I usually hate hate hate buffets because my appetite isn't that big, but I filled my plate 3-4 times for dinner alone the ribs, meat, pizza, vegetables were all great. The characters were also great but that was one of the few times I felt I got my $$'s worth out of a buffet and then some.

Worst value - Probably as some others have mentioned, Bengal. Never cared much for their meats and it is tiny even for me. A close second is Wine Country Trattoria ... if we go there again it will be only for dessert as we felt the entrees were okay but ridiculously overpriced. If I'm going to pay that kind of price for pasta it should be savory and delicious like Buca di Beppo or Old Spagetti Factory, or here at home, a restaurant called Matteo's.

We're okay with splurging on Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, crepes from the cart in DTD, and corndogs because they're special and its been consistently delicious and lovely experiences even though they're not the largest quantity of food.

My favorite by far was big thunder ranch BBQ. All you can eat but not buffet style so I could just sit and eat and not have to worry about getting up to get food since it was brought to me each time. Food was very good as well.

Plaza inn breakfast with Minnie. Great time and the food was good. Very hard to eat though when you are trying to get pictures of your toddler with all the characters. And we had 3 adults (my DW, FIL, and myself ) for one 2 yo DD. This year we plan to try AG for our character dining.

BB. Too over priced for me and I didn't feel full when we were done. I liked the food but it didn't blow me away by any means. I remember the potatoes were very good though. You just don't get very much of them.

I haven't had HB since 05 but I remember it being your basic burger and fries. Nothing special but not bad either.

You're the second person who has said they love the Fried Green Tomato sandwich..I'm REALLY happy to hear you consider it a good bang for your buck! It is ON the list

I'm the third to say I lovd the Fried Green Tomato sandwich. Also..the baked potatoes are huge and filling and not too $$. I really like the kids meal at River Belle. Carver cut turkey, really nice bread, a side and a drink and a decent condiment bar.

Disclaimer: My Disneyland party usually consists of DS14, DD10, DS9 and me so we do a lot of grazing as we make our way from ride to ride. We tend to spend a lot more money on food when hubby comes with; probably because we do less racing to the rides, more sit down meals, and I know he can help with leftovers. Also, we like food, but aren't foodies. I thought I'd share what works for us that doesn't break the bank. Note that we haven't tried any of the new-ish restaurants yet, either.

I'm in agreement on Hungry Bear as a good value; two of us can share a sandwich & sweet-potato fries and that's just the right amount of food. If I'm being nice mommy, we also get a couple of their yummy bumble bee cupcakes to split...they're too big and rich to eat a whole one!

I'm also in agreement that the Bengal Barbecue skewers are not a good value, but if we decide we have to have some I usually pair it with an order of rolls from there and that works out OK. The problem is that the skewers smell so much better than they actually taste...even knowing this I get drawn in by the smell every once in a while.

I'm in agreement that the Blue Bayou is pricey. We eat there only for special occasions, and for that reason alone it's worth it. We don't usually finish our plates here because the servings are pretty good sized and since it's a special occasion I don't make the kids order from the kid menu.

I agree that the sandwiches at Taste Pilot's Grill (at California Adventure) are big enough to share, and you can add chilli cheese to your fries for a small charge which is my favorite! Even a plain burger here is pretty good because they have the little fixings bar so if we're sharing a sandwich we all get exactly what we want on it. This is my go to place for food in California Adventure.

When we just need some sugar, the Mile High chocolate cake at the Golden Horseshoe is HUGE and is enough sugar to help us through the mid-afternoon slump (and I get a chance to rest my feet while we eat it)!If you're into Mexican food, many of the meals at Rancho del Zocalo are large enough to share, which we do if we eat there.

My kids absolutely love Disneyland's chimichanga burritos. One is enough for my almost 15 year old garbage disposal and the younger ones share one. They're not that expensive as far as food at Disneyland goes, and this usually keeps them from getting hungry for a couple more hours.

I like the Plaza Inn as well. It's been a while so hopefully the menu hasn't changed, but a children's pasta dish is just right for me. An adult's pasta meal is a good size to share among or with the kids. If you time your evening meal correctly, you can even watch the fireworks while you eat dinner!

We ate at the Lucky Fortune Cookery (at California Adventure) for the first time a few weeks ago. The food came in a little Chinese takeout box which was a little bigger than the standard size. It was a lot of food, but we weren't that into it. We could have easily shared one dish per two people and been fine.

We like that the hot dog stands give you a chips or apples with your dog and you can save the "side" for later.

If you are coffee drinkers, the Market House on Main Street gives free refills on a regular cup of coffee all day. You just have to buy your first cup there and show the receipt to them (at the Market House) to get another cup. Don't bother saving your old cup- they won't actually refill a cup or mug for sanitation reasons. I've done this once, but the time vs cost savings just wasn't worth it to me because the line is usually pretty long.

The bags of pretzels found inside the gift shops are also a great value. We also sometimes buy one of those sourdough breads at California Adventure to carry around and snack on. At the very least, my kids love to get their free sample of sourdough. The kids also like to share popcorn, which isn't expensive.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

I am sorry to report that the Mile High Cake is GONE..or was in January unless people having fits bring it back. The CM even made a point to tell us the chocolate cake was different when we ordered. It is now a dense 1 layer pie shaped wedge served with whipped cream

Plaza Inn. Love the chicken and there's so much food on one plate.
