I haven't been able to confirm this, so it might or might not be true.

However, there are reports flying about that Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams will not be returning after the holiday season, with the DLR serving the required contract notice to the Cast that the show is ending its run.

Apparently, after the Main Street repaving project is completed in March, Disneyland Park's main parade-style entertainment offering will be "Celebrate! A Street Party", with a new parade to come for Disneyland Park's 55th Anniversary in 2010.

That sounds pretty consisent with everything else that is floating out there. I am so glad that I forced DH to watch it one last time on our Halloween trip!

You can never expect a themed parade to last too long. It's always been that way and always will be! I was frankly surprised that they hadn't announced a parade to go with the new Celebration theme already!

I think our family will be really excited to see what new parades they bring our way!

I never did watch the whole parade. Only saw bits and pieces while walking by. I was actually planning on watching it on our next trip. But I guess not now...haha.

Then again, if it goes to WDW...maybe I'll see it there in 2010.

Never took the time to watch it but I dont take time for parades usually anyway...unless they are at night for some reason...I like lights lol But if it goes to WDW I'll make a note to see it in dec.

With the Year (s) of a Million Dreams ending, I would expect all of the "... of Dreams" things to end, including the amazing fireworks show. :(

We are going to WDW as a family for the first time in Feb. Parade of Dreams is listed on the schedule there for the night parade. We have run into it a few times and watched it once in the last 3 years. I am not too excited to see it at WDW, I wanted something new.

I'm sad. :( I love POD. Since POD came out with the 50th anniversary I thought they would have kept it out until the new parade for the 55th.

I think I'm even more sad because by the sound of things the new Celebrate 'parade' isn't so much a 'parade' but like a show stop thing. Kind of like the HSM things they have going on at DCA. I just hope DCA isn't the only park that has a real parades (Pixar Play, Electrical Parade).

Meh.

I dont remember where i read this, but i remember reading that they were going to have the eletric parade running in DL for the year.... as i said i cant remember if it was here or where i read that..... but i think that would be a good filler till the 55th

I sure hope so. So it can become Disney's MAIN STREET Electrical Parade again. :wizard:

The amazing fireworks show ("Remember Dreams Come True") was initially unveiled for the 50th celebration in 2005 and was only carried over into the "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion due to its popularity.

I might be in the minority here, but I'm glad the Parade of Dreams (also which was for the 50th Celebration) is going into yesterland. I never did like it and it's weird parade stops. I'll be happy to see a new parade and still hold hopes that they will return the DEP to the MSEP where it belongs. :goodvibes

Not just Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade, DisneyLAND's Main Street Electrical Parade! :goodvibes

Anyway, I don't know if I like the sound of this "Celebrate" thing. Sounds like another one of those high volume/energy obnoxious in-your-face street party things. Although I will be sad to see Parade of Dreams go, I have no problem letting WDW have it cuz boy, do they need it!!

Looking forward to the 55th and a new parade, hopefully it's as good or better than PoD.

Very true. And I believe it's because it truly is the best fireworks show they have ever done. It truly is incredible.

As for the MSEP, I SOOO had the same thought earlier today. I was going to post and thought to myself, "Eh, you are being too Disney-technical." It made me smile to see I was not the only one who loved the original parade AND it's name! :wizard:

VP told me that POD will be going dark at the end of the year, and should be heading to WDW.

A character lead was talking to me today about how exciting the new parade is supposed to be. She said they are still designing it, but it looks really great from the character team perspective. It will have stops, kind of similar to Block Party, but definitely not the same.

She also said that the parade route will be dark until the new parade takes over. This is due to the aforementioned street refinishing project. We also discussed that they are probably replacing the float sensors that are built into the pavement - the ones that help them track floats in the central computer areas and help to keep them driving on the straight and narrow.

Aww… I’m really sad to see POD go! I only got to see it once but I saw it all five days on my trip! Hopefully the new parade will be just as good. Any ideas of when the new parade will be opening up?
