Hi

wondering if you can help. I am taking my mum and dad to DLP beginning of July next year having very little knowledge of the resort hotels, park best way to book DIY or package and who to book through what advice can you offer. This may be my only Disney fix next year. But you never know WDW may just pull me back.

Thanks
Jane

Hi Jane

Try to visit after July 5th, as this is when the resort moves to its extended summer opening hours (9am-11pm for Disneyland , 9am-8pm for the Walt Disney Studios).

The easiest way to get to DLP is by the Eurostar service from London Waterloo - in three hours is takes you directly to the gates of the park! If you can get to London without much difficulty this is the best option. Other than that you can fly to Paris and take a shuttle bus to the Disney hotels, or drive (three hours from Calais).

Unless you can travel to DLP very cheapely, I've found that the packages are competitively priced for single visits. If you think you might visit more than once in 12 months, you should consider buying an annual pass and booking DIY holidays.

All of the on-site hotels are very close to the parks, so it is possible to either walk or take the (free) shuttle buses to and from your hotel. If you are staying off-site you really need a car (or be located close to a RER train station) and there are no shuttle services to the parks from off-site hotels.

A good unofficial website is http://www.dlp-guidebook.de/index_e.htm Also look out for a new guidebook on DLP by our own Simon Veness which will be published in March.

Regards

Rob
