hi everyone,

looking for any info and guidance you can offer. after recieving the flash sale email today I am sold and will be booking 27th to 29th july, me and Lexi (5mths) and my friend and her daughter, staying at the cheyenne.
so the info i am after is: what rides are going to be ok for lexi? what should i do or not do? tips and tricks with a baby in DLP?

all guidance gratefully welcomed. when it comes to WDW I'm fine, when it comes to paris, I am lost:confused3

have a look at dlrp magic as im sure it tells you which rides babies are allowed on - quite a few are over a year :(

we are taking our new baby (due next sat! :scared1:) in august so I think there will be quite a lot i miss out on this time :( we first took our other 2 (including my Lexie!) at around 17/18months so never had this problem...

there is still so much to do and see though and im looking forward to sitting with baby and watching the disney world go by...

you and your friend could do baby switch for the bigger rides, one of you queues either in main queue or fastpass queue and you say to the CM's you want to do baby switch and they will usually give you a wee ticket to pass to your friend and then you get to go in either via the fastpass queue or the exit (its a service corridor on crush!)

will be amazing! cheyenne is fab - we stayed there last year, request a travel cot for room, buses can be manic and people dont give a damn you are trying to get a baby or child on, can be a tight squeeze at times, but if you are happy to walk its a lovely walk and takes exact same time as getting the bus (we tried it one day!! and met half our group as they walked out village and we walked down from bus stop!)

There's info here on baby facilities in the park and if you're bottle feeding then personally I'd get a travel kettle to take with you to make up milk as I don't think you're guaranteed to have a kettle in your room. Also because they charge VAT on things like nappies in France they're far more expensive than they are here so I'd take as many as you can fit it your bags!

If you want to get any little princess dresses (if they do them that small) or Disney themed clothes then Tesco and Asda seem to have a good range. Primark also do plenty of cute Disney t-shirts.

We went when DD was 7 months, it was a great experience. I would definately recommend taking a baby carrier so you can carry Lexi on your chest. We alternated trips with the carrier and pushchair. There is much more freedom with a carrier, no worries about getting little ones in and out of prams or having to secure them when you visit attractions. We took a buggy lock for our pushchair which took away some of the worry when we were on rides. (this one in fact http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buggyguard-Retractable-Pram-Lock-Monkey/dp/B002QBDMDI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1336080677&sr=8-3

DD got great views when being carried and, because it looks so cute, on several occasions charracters came over to see her when we weren't even queueing to see them.

I think the only rides we took her on were carousel and small world which she was completely fascinated by. Story book boats was closed on that trip but I would have taken her on that as well. We hopped on and off of the train around the park quite a lot and alices maze was particularly fun to look around.

Cheyene is close enough to the park to make going back and forth worthwhile. We usually went in for a couple of hours before going back to the room for a rest, some days doing that 3 times.

We went DD was just 6 months old we had a great time the characters went crazy for her! She had princess dresses of course and got so much fuss made of her!

When we asked in city hall we were told anything with out a height restriction but after queuing for dumbo we found this wasn't the case! We did ride
Pirates of the Caribbean
It's a small world
Peter pan
Pinocchio
Story book ride

We didn't really have time do much else though with feeding, changing, meeting characters, parades etc we never felt like we were missing out! X

We did ask about peter pan and pinnochio and were told there was no problem with age or height, however children have to sit on the seat supporting themselves. DD would have been sliding around all over the place at that age.

We was allowed to sit DD on our laps when she was 7 months and again at age of 1.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I really think it depends on the CM you get. DD2 was almost 6 months old the first trip we made (and 15 months the second), the first trip was waaay easier with her!

To be fair, she didn't go on much at all - think we did IASW & PP (where she sat on our knee and no-one said a thing) a few times but that was it. She was happy to just watch the parade and the world go by from her pushchair! It was easy for us though as I had my parents with us, so DH and I were able to concentrate on DD1 who was 3.5 yrs on the first trip :thumbsup2.

Agree about the feeding/changing taking up a lot of time. We found the babycare centers a boon though - really good as I was feeding her myself.

As others have said, take plenty of nappies and supplies as they are expensive over there. If you have started weaning by then, again take babyfood with you too. On one trip we did when she was weaned, we wrapped glass jars in tin foil, then kitchen paper, then plastic ziplock bags. Packed them tightly inside large plastic tupperware dishes and put them inside our cases in between the towels! Worked a treat - I was worried I'd end up with baby spag bol all over our clothes but nothing was broken! :thumbsup2

There were very few pouches out for her age when we went the first time. But I recall buying some Hipp Organix ones too!

ETA - I've just remembered why we took mostly glass jars. DD2 was on a dairy free diet at the time and quite a few meals (nearly all) had milk/dairy in them!!
