We are planning a trip next summer to Europe. We will fly into London and take the Chunnel to DLP. Once there though, how easy is it to get into Paris to sight see? We plan on staying on property but doing the parks and the Paris sights as well.

It has been years since I visited and then with a BF who had a car so I have no experience with French public transport.

Thank you!

At the park you've got the RER line A train on your doorstep (search for the RATP website which has maps and timetables for all lines, DLP is the Marne-la-vallée Chessy station at one end of the line), which for the modest sum of about €7,50 one way will get you right into the centre of Paris (Auber or Etoile, depending on which area you want) in 35-40 minutes (takes that long because it stops everywhere along the way). So very easy :)

There is also an organised sightseeing trip from DLP (reviews in the Trip Reports section) if you prefer to do it this way but it's incredibly easy (and usually cheaper) to do it yourself.

We did a few excursions from dlp during our week long stay last summer and i used that website to plan our travel. We used the train for Paris, the free bus for Val d'Europe and buses for a trip to the big cat reserve, have to say their buses and the service is fabulous. My husband wasn't convinced that public transport was for us and wanted to book taxis, but honestly with a bit of preplanning it was easy :)
Oh and its super easy to get tickets from the machines at the train station for rail and bus services.:thumbsup2

Just so you don't make the same mistake an American friend of mine made a few years ago. The Chunnel is sometimes the name given to the car, bus and truck transporting train operated by Eurotunnel 'le shuttle' between Folkestone and Calais.

If your landing in London and want to go to DLP on the train your looking for the Eurostar service from St Pancras International station to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy (Disneyland Paris) train station.

My friends travel agent made the fatal mistake of booking her and her family on the Eurotunnel between Folkestone to Calais. She wondered why the agent wanted to know the length and height of her SUV but thought nothing of it at the time.

Needles to say after some very confused looks by the Eurostar reservations lady at St Pancras and a panicky phone call to me in foods of tears, we managed to sort everything out, and she got on the Eurostar to France. Luckily for her, the travel agent admitted it was all their fault and she got a full refund on the Eurostar tickets she had to buy and on the Eurotunnel tickets. She can laugh about it now, but it was not the magical start to her European holiday she had wished for.

Jongo - that is a scary story - it pays to do a little research on your own even if you are using a Travel Agent.

I haven't used a travel agent since 2000 when I was planning a trip to Hawaii and found a great deal on airfare that the travel agent missed. I have also had a travel agent book us in two different places on the same dates and then we found out about it a few weeks before when we received our travel documents. We ended up in an upgraded room that time because of the TA's mistake.

It still wasn't worth the stress and aggravation.
