Hi, sorry to post this question I've been trying to use the search function on this forum all day but I keep getting a 504 error!

DH and I will be in DLP for one day in August. Which rides should we hit first? Hubby is a typical man and hates waiting in line for anything so I want to minimise the time we will have to by planning rides to head to first in the park and when to use FP.

Any thoughts or strategies you've used before are very welcome!

Thanks

Martina

Martina, since the board loves questions you don't need to apologise :)

I can appreciate DH's views. Given that you only have one day then key strategy is get the park for opening.
Go straight to Peter Pan and get fast pass as they are often finished by mid day.
You can hold fast passes for different rides at the same time so Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, Indiana Jones and Space Mountain should also be on your list.
Try to finish Fantasyland by 11.00 as it becomes unbearable with queues later in the day.

In the morning, if you exit a ride and there is no line, ride it again before the line gets long.

During the summer month lines build up very fast! You HAVE to be in the park when it opens! And then (If you are only adults) you should heat to SM2, after that BTM and then it will be 10am and there will be long waiting lines everywere!

I hope you will have fun! Enjoy! :thumbsup2 princess:

hi yes we are just adults [kids are staying home this trip - long needed break away for just me and dh].

How popular is the new Buzz Lightyear ride in relation to SM2 and BTM. Also does anyone know if there are any published 1 day strategies in any of the guide books which I could tailor?

not sure really however we rode buzz early at about 9.30am and queue were about 30minutes long, plus loads of people waiting to get fast passes when we came of the ride. I guess it will be more popular as it a new ride.

Buzz is a highlight. And when we visited in June the lines build up very very fast! And during the day (not a weekend) there was a waiting time at about 60 minutes! And on the weekend sometimes more than 90 minutes! :groom:

was there last week - buzz lightyear - maybe cause it is new but the line builds up FAST.

on our second day- we got to rope drop but was near the back - it took us ten mins to get on buzz - because of the amount of people that were in front of us.

we done buzz then done star turs - walked back past buzz and saw that the queue had gone up to a 20 min wait.

at 3pm - it was 50 mins.

fast pass if ya can - but my the afternoon all the fp's go.

have fun!

Buzz Lightyear is very very popular, there were queing times of an hour for Buzz and BTM when I was there in May, we got a fastpass for them both.
