DLP recommended restaurants and most "bang for your buck"?

I know they all look yummy and yes I agree it would be totally rude of us not to try them all :rotfl2:

Seriously though Alison it'll be your BIRTHDAY! Enjoy it! It's not all gonna pile back on in just a few days (plus you'll do a ton of walking) :thumbsup2 And remember, you can always claw it back once you're home again. Don't come home feeling like you've missed out, just enjoy yourself  Not long now!! :goodvibes

Yes your right Hun - the cakes and desserts at DLP are amazing and unlike anything you would get anywere else; so I'll pick the diet up when I get home!

3 weeks' tomorrow - not long now! Can you see me bouncing off the walls like Tigger??!! Can you imagine how bad I'm going to be in 3 weeks' time!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Would you all recommend making advance reservations at all the places listed so far?

I definitely would; altho Annette's is one of the few restaurants you can't book for. I've booked all our restaurants as soon as I was able to (60 days prior)

We tried to get in at Cafe Mickey last year and after queueing for half an hour; we were told they were only taking diners with reservations!

yes, we usually do - but often we wait until we are at DLP and make all our reservations at City Hall on our first day. The only time I do it earlier than that is if we want Cafe Mickey on a certain evening and time (because it gets very busy and its a very popular place for dinner).

Similar here - we book all our meals at the Concierge as soon as we've checked in at the hotel. You don't have to book waaay in advance unless you really want a specific time/date, but it is still worth having a reservation.

To give you an example, one morning we booked for the Steakhouse in the Village for that evening and had our choice of times. Yet when we came to check in at the restaurant just 10 hours later, the staff at the desk were telling people that it was a one hour plus wait for a table if you didn't have a reservation.

So I'm resurrecting this thread now we're almost at ressie time - I'm thinking Annette's, Walt's and Restaurant de Stars look good bets, but just checking there's been no change in opinion since before? Or any other contenders?

Went in November & Restaurant des Stars is still my favourite place, food plentiful and lots of choice. Its a must for whenever we go.

Annette's was also another good meal in November plenty of food to eat.

Also Earl of Sandwich gets my vote for hot sandwiches, don't normally have lunch when we go as breakfast & dinner is usually enough but we tried here and was hooked:goodvibes
