DLP now taking bookings for DEC onwards

weird-i was told by disney that i couldn't book till June 1st and have just phoned Disney direct after reading this thread and they couldn't book me in either i am trying to book dec 31st and it's a no go :confused3

Thats weird as i booked jan 2009 fine throught disney direct over the phone this morning.
I would ring again :)

Wish I had never read this thread as we are now thinking about returning in January, damn you all :)

Only joking, we loved it when we were there a few weeks ago and I think a booking will be made very shortly.

Can someone tell me what January is like, expecting it to be chilly but will we get Candleabration in the dark because it really had no impact in the daytime.

What are the crowds like?

Thanks

Steve

January is VERY cold but its the best as there is no crowds, walk on rides etc.

Only low point is park shuts at 6pm. But yes Candleabration is in the dark, tho it wont be pitch black its dark enough if you know what i mean :rotfl:

Prived up for 5 days 4 nights Cheyenne and price is v good and will wait for Easyjet to there flights up and get booked.

Another question tagged on, when do the Xmas Decs come down?

The crowds are great, gets a wee bit busy at parade times but nothing to write home about.

When we went in 07 it was so cold that the air stung your lungs!! I'm not even kidding and if you took your gloves of it was like your hands were going to snap off!
08 was cold but not compared to 07...so that was a bonus...I went prepared, thermals, ski suits, earflap hats the lot....was great!!!:rotfl:

Heres a scarey photo for you to get the jist of it!!:rotfl: And before you ask..no I don't do discount for Easy Jet!!haha!!

Jan 07 we went from the 13th to the 18th and they were taken down by the time we went home..we had 2 or 3 days of them.

The hours where 10am-6pm we only had 2 days of EMH when we was there last January, but we went the last week of January.

Im not sure when the xmas decs come down, im hoping there are they when we go 5th Jan as it be nice to see the end of the xmas season.

We are staying Cheyenne too, the price was too good to refuse :goodvibes

Wow you know cold, you are even further North than me. I wondered what the Easyjet crack was but I take it that is an Easyjet jacket you are wearing. I will not be showing DW that photo as I am trying to convince her that it will be Summer in Paris, you know like in Australia but she is not buying it. Looks like thermal underwear and will be required. I hope they do heating better than they do cooling, we went into a few shows and the like expecting the WDW customary Air Con and we were denied.

OMG I can't believe we are planning a return.

Those hours are good as Josh needs his sleep although he was always buzzing after the parks that sleep was the last thing he wanted to do.

I suspect we will be moving to the beginning of Jan as DW would like to see the Decs if that was a possibility as we used to always do WDW for Xmas as the decs at DLP looks even better.

Its weird because when people here hear about you going to paris (jan) they reckon it will be hot...no chance! Its really good though..Id rather that cause its alot cheaper and you get alot of character interaction etc!

No the jacket isn't easy jet but everyone thought it was...it was good though because the party we went with could easily spot me for miles...I reckon you could spot that jacket from the moon!;)

You guys will have a blast!! you could always take a hairdryer with you to give yourself a quick defrost when you go back to your room!!;) :rotfl:

I have my 40th birthday next January, so although I would like to spend it in DLP, I don't think I would enjoy the cold with 2 kids (youngest will have just turned 2 by then). January is always the worst month for flights being cancelled because of bad weather & I would hate that to happen.

I'm thinking of bringing my birthday holiday forward to the first week in November. We've been the same time in 07 & 06 & the weather was lovely & the crowds were low, there are fireworks for bonfire night & every day new Christmas decorations appear until they're all up by the end of the week. Also DH & DD1 can get new annual passes using the under 7 free offer (mine is still valid until Mar 09) which expires Nov 7th and DD2 will still be under 2, so free on the plane. I have already priced flights & accommodation, just have to convince DH that it is a good idea.

Phoned back and they still cannot do it! :confused3

what number are you guys ringing that i am not?? :rotfl:

(Before anyone asks it is the official Disney Direct I am ringing too.)

I wonder if its because you are trying to book room only with AP discount and that they've not got the discount sorted yet.

OK maybe we will need to go towards the beginning of January so we can catch the Xmas Decs before they get taken down.

Make sure though before you book..it was that last year and I don't want to get the blame if you go and they are down!!;) Looked really nice though, and if they are still doing that Mickeys Wonderland show, that was superb too..think we went 3 times!

Mickeys Winter Wonderland show is on till March, as i saw it at the end of January this year, we watched it twice, loved it.

OK then I won't hold you personally responsible if Disney take down the Decs early. Ooh a show sounds good though.

I think it is, I booked my castle club room for New Years Eve and have had to pay a horrific price!!! i did a price comparison earlier this year to find out how much castle club room only would be in the middle of summer and for one night it was just over £500 so i beared this in mind.

I book today room only for NYE and it cost me £815!!!!!!!

I am still in shock.:rotfl: we could go to mexico all inclusive for that.

oh well i asked to book the seqouia for the next few nights and they told me the dates with AP discounts weren't available yet so to call back soon.....

Just booked the Eurostar for Dec 08 - 11th!!!! just waiting for the AP prices to come out (told me to ring back next week)... this thread is dangerous :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
