DLP Newbie needing some ride advice PLEASE

Hun, by the time I realised I was a disnut it was too late to change my name ;)

Glad to see you on here

I remember IJ going backwards on our first trip (2008). I recall it as DSD was having kittens as it was his first coaster ride and he was really scared  :lmao:

I think you have it all sorted now. ToT is probably my fave adult ride at DLRP :goodvibes

I really want to go on Crush but can't leave DH with both kids while I ride :rolleyes1. Was thinking of taking them both on but at 4 & 7 I might be subjecting them to something fairly severe? :confused3

We went to Legoland Windsor last year and did a few coasters and they loved it... but Crush does sound more full on....

Ah shame, Disnut would totally suit you :) What would you say is your favourite DLP ride? I would say it's a small world finding you on here but with a little fairy dust and some Disney magic anything's possible

DLPDreams .. I'm so glad IJ no longer goes backwards!!! A fellow ToT fan :thumbsup2 Can't wait to experience it at DLP this October whoop whoop and yes think I now have all my rides sorted .. now just to put them in some kind of order as to what to head to first (obviously ToT is a MUST first and grab a FP too!)

My two dds did crush when they were 5 and 7. It wasn't a favourite for either of them but they certainly didn't hate it. On that trip the oldests favourite was RRC:confused3

I'd say my fave is Pirates although Big Thunder Mountain is awesome too and I love 'It's a Small World' more than the WDW one.

DS(16) and DH are both big coaster fans and HATED Crush  although they love SM (I HATE it and won't go on since DH tricked me inot it on our honeymoon). I think the shows are the best bit about DLP :thumbsup2

I cant do coasters, total chicken, but star tours was amazing! not bad at all, and pirates of the caribbean i was worried about the drops, after the first realised its not bad at all, im gonna brave and go on rc racer on my visit! ahhh

  1. Star Tours
  2. Indiana Jones
  3. Pirates of the Caribbean
  4. Crushes Coaster
  5. RC Racer
  6. Buzz Lightyear
  7. Aerosmith Rock n Roller Coaster
I'm definately doing Tower of Terror, Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor and TSY Parachute Drop.

If there's any other rides I've missed that you guys can recommend that would be great! :thumbsup2

Im not a big thrill rider either! Unless i get dragged on and hassled by the person wanting me to go on! i do end up giving in and being sooo scared.....why i do it to myself:confused3:)

ST - I loved it, i didnt feel any sort of sickness. they only thing that gets me on that is being closed in a small place! I always worry we could stuck in (thats why i dont do lifts haha)

IJ - Never done it! Only because all the reviews i read, i heard your head flings around quite abit! dont fancy having a sore neck all day afterwards.

POTC - LOVE it! No dizzyness spinning nothing! like people have already stated you have 2 little drops nothing to get your stomach going.

Crush Coaster - My 2nd fav ride without a doubt! I could ride it all day (well if the queues werent so looong) I did go on the first time thinking it would be tamer than it was! The first drop is the biggest to gather your speed up! But nothing big, then there is alot of spinning but its fab! Is in the Dark, put it isnt pitch black but due to always moving you cant really make anything out anyway. Ive never came off it feeling sick once! Its jsut to short aswell which is a downside! over with so quickly! Should go round twice i think!:thumbsup2

RC racer - wasnt there last time i went in 2009! So new one for me.....If seems just like the pirate ship, which ive always liked at funfairs etc.

Buzz! one of my top 3 rides!! Its just fun all the way through, i dont think i even noticed first few times riding it you could turn your car:lmao: i was to interested in getting a big score! But when we did notice we kept it spinning all the time was funny! Again didnt feel any sickness at all.

R and R - never done this one either! Ive been very tempted a few times! i still need convincing!

I did SM2 once! But never again, it just wasnt for me at all! the first part just seemed never ending and i thought my stomach was going to end up in my mouth! My brother was screaming like a girl! haha! (Imagine a Phil Mitchell look alike screaming:lmao:) I couldnt make much else out on the ride! Had freaked myself out to much with the first drop! I just wanted off.

my top 3 rides are BTM, Crush coaster and Buzz! I could ride them 3 all day!:)

I have found that the older i get i do tend to feel more sickness etc on spinning rides! in my teens and 20's (Im 31 now) I use to love the Waltzes at the funfair! I would even ask 2 guys to spin us all the way through the ride, that much your head flips back and you can feel the force! I use to love it!
But now i wont go on them, a few spins and i feel rubbish for the day! Get that "im gonna be sick" feeling all day.
I will be going on the teacups this year with my DS, this is the ride im dreading the most:lmao:

OOh im not brave enought at all to do TOT! So if you can do that ride and love it, i think you can do all rides in the park haha!

(Imagine a Phil Mitchell look alike screaming:lmao:)
:rotfl2: Now I bet that WAS hilarious!!!!! :rotfl2:

Why does everyone say that?! :confused3 ToT is tame and such a fab ride! All is does is drop you super fast and then take you back up just as fast and then drop you super fast in the dark! I was petrified about going on this one in WDW but loved it loved it LOVED it that I'm practically chomping at the bit to get my butt back on it again in October! I love the feeling of one minute your stomach being in the right place and then BOOM in your mouth! Ha ha

see thats exactly why I would hate TOT - I think I'm going to die on the frog-hoppers at Gullivers Kingdom!

strangely though, I love the Parachute Drop at DLP :goodvibes

You said it! I don't get if you can do the Parachute Drop why you can't do ToT? ;) (Mind you I've not done the Parachute Drop yet .. another ride I'm very much looking forward too!). I guess that's why they have so many different rides, to suit everyone's tastes! I have no idea why I was so scared of ToT .. but then on the other hand I went on Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens (against BIG protest may I add) .. conquered the ride but have no urge to go on it again which is why I'm against going on RnR or anything similar such as SM (anything with inversions or goes backwards) :guilty:

:rotfl2: Now I bet that WAS hilarious!!!!! :rotfl2:

oh yes!! I should of filmed it! He couldnt admitt to the rest of us afterwards that he screamed :rotfl2:

Thats the part i hate! the part when your stomach is nearly in your month:lmao: It looks very scary.....ive not really been on any ride like that before! I much rather like to look and stare at the building :rotfl2:

saying that, the parachute drop (Which is new to me) looks not to bad! i think i could be tempted onto them! :)
