so we are heading to DLP in January

dates will be Jan. 5 to 9.

We are coming from London and will be taking the train.

Any tips will be much appreciated i.e how to book, getting there

Also, our dates are not available for booking at the official website of Disney but when I tried disneylandparisdirect, I am getting a rate of 484 (GBP) for Hotel Cheyenne with 4 ights/5 days. Is this an ok price or should I wait??

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids aged 9 and 6).

A lot of help will be much appreciated as I am a newbie on this.

Only went twice in WDW and booked at the official site

Thanks a lot in advance

Winter season should be on sale by the end of the month.
The beginning of January should be a low season for the resort, so I would suggest to wait for an offer before booking, there is no hurry for that period.
Offers are up most of the time, at least 20% or one free night if you purchase at least 2. If you wait the right moment you could end up with an offer for up to 40%.
Someone books when they get a reasonable offer, then they continue to look at the site and if they find a better offer, they use it to "upgrade" the reservation. Being a better hotel or adding half board, you can modify your reservation using the new offer if you end up paying at least a little more than the previous one, without any fee.

The offer you found has tickets included? You might find a huge difference between sites like Expedia and the official website and most of it is that the official website has a package which includes park tickets for length of stay.

There are also a bunch of non-Disney hotels who are very nice and have free shuttle for the park, you can find better rates there (but they are not Disney, so a little less magic during your stay).

Yes don't rush to book. I got 50% off for my trip of Jan this year. I actually changed my way of booking and rather then just pay on the site, i phoned them up and got disney express included for free.

Can I ask when you booked please?

officially winter 2012/13 goes on sale tomorrow so i am going to price our options up and then see if a flash sale comes up :)

Now there is a question.

I booked in advance and paid a 10% deposit. The rest i think had to be paid either 60 or 90 days in advance so i would say around July/August. I'll have a look a through my posting history and see if that has more info.
