DLP Halloween/half term - best time to book?

Hi,

Just found this forum after seraching for DLP deals.
We are hoping to visit DLP for 4 nights during October half term for the halloween festivities.

We would like to stay at one of the Disney hotels (thinking of the Cheyenne, as we've stayed at the Santa Fe before). Just wondering how far in advance it's best to book?

The cheapest I can find for flights, hotel and tickets is around £1600 (2 adults and 2 kids over 7) on both DLP site and Expedia, which sounds a lot of money! We would be flying for Birmingham.

Does anyone know of any good online booking sites, special offers etc?

Is that price on a whole package, or are you pricing your flights and hotel separately? Pricing separately usually comes out cheaper.

My first couple of trips were onsite, I bought flights with BMIbaby and hotel/tickets through Disney direct, one adult one child, 2 nights was around £250 for the hotel/tickets, and flights were around £125 total. So thats £375 for 2nights 3 days (£188 each) - your price works out at £400 per person, but you're going outside of low Disney season, so thats maybe thats why the price is higher?

Have already booked for october 14 - 20th NPBC admirals floor. 6 nights for the two of us including flights etc worked out at £1492. Personally i wouldnt leave it much longer to book - I presume halloween time will be busy.

We are going Sun 26th to Fri 31st October and we booked in April!

2 adults, and 2 kids (aged 12 and 14) so 4 adults really! We are staying at the Cheyenne.

Even in April we couldnt get the Eurostar price we wanted so we are flying from Heathrow.

We have booked to go to MNSSHP on 28th October and we booked a Character Tea at the Plaza Gardens and I think our total cost is about £1600.

If you really want to go for Half Term I would seriously consider booking it SOON!

Where did you find info on the MNSSHP? We will be at DLRP from 26th-29th October. We booked in May for 4 adults at the Disneyland hotel.

It was really difficult to find info on MNSSHP - I dont even know which site I found it on. I was just surfing one day last week and came across it. But there was no mention on the official Disney Site, only the main party on the 31st Oct.

So I called DLP direct and asked them about it - and there are four dates in October, I'm pretty sure its something like 4th, 17th, (plus another!) and the 28th. We went to MNSSHP in 2004 in WDW and I asked the cast member whether it was the same sort of thing and she said "exactly the same". It cost £68 for 4 adult tickets. The party is from 7pm til 11:30pm.

She did say its strictly limited entry though, so if you're looking to do the 28th then I'd phone them now!

Hi, I booked a few weeks ago for October half term. I used airmiles courtesy of tesco and also booked Explorers (paying cash) through airmiles too.

A good site to look at to compare flight prices is www.skyscanner.net

I've just looked on the internet for you and as you're flying from Birmingham you could try www.cityjet.com.

Another good site for hotels and flights is www.sunshine.co.uk

Hope you find something suitable.

Thanks for the info on the Halloween party, I'll phone them tomorrow to see if we can get tickets for the 28th as well. I wonder why it isn't advertised though? Or maybe they will after the summer is over.

dana.... i got the info from my latest disney brochure - summer/winter 2008-2009 as it has the info for all the halloween & christmas stuff in it.
maybe ur right, it will be advertised more once the summer is more underway???

maybe one year we will go for halloween as it does sound brill, but best not pull ds out of school for halloween AND christmas - plus i think thats a bit excessive dont u??? well, no it s not, but the money part wud be!!

Thanks for all that info, esp about the cheap flights.

Have been doing some more searching on the disney site and found the under 12's go free offer for early next year. This will save us around £600 for a 4 night stay, which is too good an offer to miss, so we are now thinking about Feb 09, but I guess that will need a new thread!

Because of our kids' ages (21 and 14) we have to book as 4 adults, and cost goes through the roof. And everyone asks aren't we a bit old for ANOTHER Disney Halloween holiday

We are going from 17th Oct for 5 nights. Disney package would have been ~£1900 which we simply cant afford. So I booked us into the Premier Classe in Bussy for £226. Easyjet from Newcastle is £249 for all 4, and park tickets are £93 each for 4 days. Grand total including train fares is £891. Eases the wallet for spending money !

This will be our first time staying off-site. The one thing we noticed last couple of trips was there wasn't much to do in the evenings - Bussy should offer more in that respect.

we are contemplating going at Halloween or at least some time in October, we've done Christmas etc but having seen the brochure I really want to go at Halloween but the prices I've found so far are more expensive than Christmas ... just trying to make our mind up when to go !

6th October is the first Monday of the Halloween season at DLRP this year - thats when we are going .

We have dream passes, but my sister and her family are coming along with us, and they managed to book their hotel/tickets package in April, which gave them a £90 room discount on their price (it was an early booker deal on the official Disney website).

6th October week is still low Disney season - maybe that would be cheaper for you than Halloween/half term week?

w/c 6th October is the date I'm currently pricing. Hubby can't quite get it why I want to go back when we were only there last month but we've never seen it at Halloween and I so want to ! Would love to go back at Christmas time but it was so cold when we were there a few years ago and our little girl is only 2 so I think it's best we wait and do Christmas when she is a little older and at least October time shouldn't be too cold. Off to price the flights as well as the tunnel

we've finally booked and I'm excited already !!! We're going 15th October and staying 3 nights at the Cheyenne. We usually Easyjet it from Newcastle but we're giving Eurostar a go this time around and we leave London at 08:32 in the morning going there and return leaving Disneyland at 19:30 so I'm hoping this will give us a bit more time. Joined quidco for a fiver and earned cashback on the whole trip which made it a bit easier in convincing hubby to go again
