MY Ds's birthday is on 22 October. So just before Halloween. And yes - I am thinking about going. But I have few questions.

How about queues during this time? I presume there will be a lot of people and wait time will be much longer than we had this time. I really do not want to waste time while standing in line.

Next is the weather. March was lovely. I want the same weather. How's weather in October in DLP? Cold? Rainy?

I guess it will be crowded...

Is it worth it?

I think it would be a great present for my DS.

Oh, and is DLP scary in Halloween? After this trip I know now that my DS isn't the brave one :rolleyes1

Do you have to go the week of 22nd October? That is the start of UK school holidays, so yes, it will be very busy (much much busier than you experienced last month).

We've had lovely weather going to DLP the first week of Halloween season in recent years, ie week beginning 3rd October this year. Midweek the parks are quiet then, the Halloween theme is in full swing, and its great great fun :goodvibes. Halloween at DLP is fun scary, not scary scary (think pumpkins and orange paint everywhere :)).

I was thinking about going for 22nd. So is it better do it a week before?
And I can order a cake for DS so they would sing Happy birthday for him even if it's not his real birthday?

Or should I postpone our trip for March 2012?

Halloween is my favorite time of year at DLP. The decore and entertainment are great. However, avoid that last week. Virtually every country seems to have that week off school and it is busier than Christmas, Easter and Summer in our experience. Go earlier in the month and it is great. It can be warm and dry, or cold and rainy, but that is northern Europe for you - we have had the same in March and August too.

As for birthday cakes, there is no need to prove it, as long as you pay for it, you can have it. And if you have an AP and want to take advantage of the free Buffalo Bill's ticket, it just needs to be within 30 days either before or after the birthday.

As for scaryness, my daughter used to get nervous, but not too bad. It is fun more than anything.

I want to avoid crowds. Well, I'll have to do lots of thinking and counting... Prices at the moment are just shocking :scared1:

I'd either wait for an offer to come out for October, and go just before your DS's birthday, or wait until after April 2012, when the 20th anniversary events will be on :goodvibes.

There are some trip reports from October 2010 -

these were all Halloween season ones.

Or you could give your Ds a letter on his birthday saying he is going to meet santa in 2 weeks. Christmas season starts november 7th plus the bonfire fireworks will be on that night on lake disney

We had our first Halloween at DLP last year and we loved it. Our school holidays are earlier in the month though, and we went around 10th October.

It was a bit cold, but we had beautiful blue sky every day and hardly waited for anything. Most rides were walk on with the exception the TSPL and Crush.

I loved seeing the park decorated differently. My ds is 6 and gets scared quite easily, but he wasn't frightened by anything - he even spoke to Jack Skellington for ages.

I'm hoping for another Halloween trip this year - even with shorter park hours we found we got so much more done than during summer when it is quite hot.

so many good ideas. Well, in fact there's nothing but to wait for a good deal to come up. I've got time and I can wait. Let's see what happens. Right now prices do scary me :lmao:

I'd love to see DLP dressed differently, get new experiences and do Casey Jr. :lmao: Right now I know what rides we would do, where to go and what is nor for us.
