So, lots of you think the fact that the resort is full this weekend will mean extra investment in the future. I'm new to this board but have lurked on a rival WDW forum for months where they go and on about likely plans for development and a new park in the future.

So what do people think might happen in Paris? Will it simply be adding extra to The Studios, or can you ever imagine a new park being built? If so would it be a copy of a Florida one, Epcot or Animal Kingdom, or something completely new? Personally I'd love to see a Paris version of Epcot, I don't even know if there would be the space though. A third park would make a massive difference to DLP, taking it away from being a short break resort to a holiday
resort lasting a week at least...... maybe people wouldn't actually want that?

Sorry, my final thought is that this may have been discussed to death before. Apologies if so.

There is rumours that a 3rd park may be built but if that turns out to be true it wont be for a long time.

I suspect current plans are to expand the Studios.

If I remember correctly, part of the financially reconstruction was that the Main park got a new ride (Buzz) & then the Studios got TOT, Cars & Crush. The plan was then to revamp the Village rumours were that a chinese restaurant was going there & the Sports bar was/is changing to the ESPN bar.

Personally I would rather they keep to the 2 parks at the moment & expand them. A new park will mean loads more money being spent, which whilst DLRP is making a profit each year now they still have huge debts. The only advantage with the current economic crisis is that the interest is racking up so high due to the low interest rates.

I would rather them keep the 2 parks and just expand them and then when that is all complete then build a 3rd park. I heard that it could be a indoor water park which im not too keen on anyway.

The 3rd Park is not really a rumour. It is part of the agreement with the French Govenment when EuroDisney was first concieved, EuroDisney SCA had to provide a new park every 10 years until there were 3 parks hence why the WDS was built exactly 10 years after opening.

Current rumour is that EuroDisney SCA are trying to negotiate a new time scale for the 3rd gate however it is also concieveable that DLRP may get the French GP instead as a compromise.

I'd imagine something like Animal Kingdom or a Water Park once a 3rd gate was built. It is also planned for the large area behind the Sequia Lodge Hotel :thumbsup2

The original masterplan was to have 3 more hotels, there is room for WDS to be the size of DLP, a third theme park (Epcot/Nature park was original plan) and a mixed water park "Lava Lagoon". Also another convention centre/concert arena was on the cards. So watch this space.

I would imagine that they will pay off some of their debts before building a new park or updating.

They still owe 2 Billion Euros

Does Dave know something we dont?? :thumbsup2

Was it three more? I knew there was supposed to be one more around the NPBC but didn't know about the other two.

I'm not sure that I like the idea of a WDW port coming to DLRP. I'd rather a new exclusive park but then I guess it all comes down to finances really.

After concluding that the project is not economically viable, Euro Disney and Lagardère Sports have decided to cease their project of bringing the French Grand Prix to Paris, AFP reports.

The endeavour had originally planned to see the new Formula One destination in operation for the 2010 season, yet despite strong public support coming from F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone, no definite agreement could be reached with other parties in order to secure the necessary financial backing to bring the operation forward.

Spearheaded by former champion Alain Prost, the monetary structure estimated at 60 million euros was to be set in place by Lagardère Sports while Euro Disney supplied the land upon which the future circuit would have been built.

The chosen venue is situated about a half-hour away from the French capital and seemed to be the leading prospect in replacing the Magny-Cours track due to its closeness to Paris and its readily available hotel accommodations - a lacking feature at the former circuit, which is surrounded by fields and villages.

About 250 residents of Val-d'Europe protested last week-end against the project, citing noise pollution and the environmental effects the race would have on the area.

Disneyland Paris had replied that its intention was to save the French Grand Prix and took the opportunity to underline the economic downfall the event would bring, only to pull out of the project days later.

The Euro Disney plan was one of six aiming at finding a new site for the French round of the championship, and the only one capable of hosting a Grand Prix by 2010. With the cancellation of the 2009 event, France will most probably not host a Formula One race before 2011 at best.

Within a week, it is the second Formula One rescue plan to fail following Canada's withdrawal, also for economic reasons.

That's good. Not sure how it would have worked to be honest, maybe they could have created a temporary race course through the parks :thumbsup2
