DLH, where to park?

I was looking at maps, if we end up in the adventure tower, the parking lot seems really far! Do we have to haul our luggage that far? I may need our van, so didn't really want to mess with valet. But even if we do valet, luggage would be unloaded at the fantasy tower? We still have to haul it a decent distance, don't we? Even on a luggage cart. 5 little kids, 2 adults. Doesn't sound like a fun start after a 6 hr drive! LOL

Tell me the easy way! What am I missing?

Our first visit I self parked and hauled luggage all the way to Frontier Tower. It took forever, at least 2 trips. Do yourself s favour and valet park and leave the bags for bell services to bring up. Yes it costs a little more but makes for a much more relaxing start to your vacation!

I have to disagree on the valet parking. I find that once I arrive at DLH I do not touch the car again until I leave, but the valet charges add up every day. I usually pull up to the front, drop the bags either with Bell Services or leave a family member waiting with them, and then I go to the self park lot. From there I walk in, alone and empty handed, back to the hotel to check in.

Whatever you do, definitely don't haul in your bags from the self park lot. It is very far and there is no need for it.

Yes, pull to the front of the hotel. Unload your passengers and bags, then take the car to the self park area. I prefer to use bell services to bring our bags. We don't travel light. But even so, last trip I was solo, and had 2 bags, and I let bell services handle them, just easier for me.

Yes as the previous poster said pull up to the front door, unload with the bell desk, go park at the self park, and they'll bring your luggage to your room. Self park is not a far walk, but I would not want to haul the luggage. Enjoy!

We always just valet park when staying at a Disney hotel. It's only a few bucks more than self park and so easy.

We always valet. I feel it's totally worth it since it's just a little more $. Now if you're staying more than a few days, maybe the difference would be more significant so I could see going with self park. Either way unload your car at the front entrance first. We always take advantage of bell service - completely worth the tip (I do $5-10 depending on what all we have). The bell men are also great resources for resort questions while they're unloading your luggage into your room.

There's a lot at frontier tower. Small and behind it. Very convenient. We parked in the checkin area, checked in, found out we were in frontier and they told us how to get back there.

We will be there for 5 nights, so it's not a huge difference when compared to what we are paying for the week, but it still a decent amount. If we have them bring our bags, how long does it take for them to get there? Not hours like on a cruise, right?!

We won't have tons, but a good amount of stuff.....there's 7 of us!

Once you get in your room and call for the bags it's about 10-15 minutes, depending on how busy it is at the hotel. We just did this at the GCH in September and it was like 5 minutes from the time I called!
