Hi. I'm planning a 3-4 night trip in Sept. and would love to stay at the DLH but I'm not sure I can justify the extra $400! We've never stayed onsite -only at the hotels directly across the street.

I've heard the BWPPI is nice, clean and one of the better motels. Are they all mini suites or just some?

I guess the walk is about the same from either hotel and we never spend any time in our rooms. With that being said, we stayed at Del Sol last year and hated it!! What a dump! I know it's supposed to be just a place to sleep since we spend all of our time in the parks but it really kind of ruined it for us to stay somewhere so dumpy.

Our kids are 10 and 7 so no need to come back for naps. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Kelly

The location of BWPPI is excellent. We have never stayed on site. Our last trip was to Candy Cane Inn and I highly recommend it. It is a cozy motel that is well maintained and they have their own shuttle. To us, the DLH is pretty far to walk compared to other choices. Are you looking for a suite?

We are doing a three night trip 9/20-9/23 and booked BWPPI. Now, I am holding out for AP rates and crossing my fingers that we can get a good deal on site. If not, I have the BWPPI as our back up. I have heard good things and it was one hotel closer than the Tropicana which we stayed in three weeks ago (clean but very Motel 6 like to me- room was horribly small for three people and we want something bigger).
I saw that BWPPI is also doing the fourth night free right now so you may want to check that out. I saw it on the Alaska Air website.

The BWPPI is not all suites. In fact I didn't know they had any. But it is definitely nice and clean and one of the better motels. The walk is much closer than DLH to the parks and they also offer free breakfast. You really can't go wrong with it if you are just looking for a place to sleep. No worries at all about it being a dump - it definitely is not that.

Thanks! I guess I've decided on BWPPI. I just can't see spending all that extra money. I'm cheap that way :) That money could pay for our gas there plus some of our meals.

We have stayed at both the Tropicanna and the Carousel Inn, the rooms at the Tropicana were small, the Candy Canes are even smaller. The Carousel Inns rooms were bigger but only marginally. The CI does have suites which all overlook the park these will still work out cheaper than staying at DLH. BWPPI I think is close to the crosswalk as well.

We just stayed at the BWPPI over Memorial Day weekend. If money were no object, I'd stay at the DLH but we were pleasantly surprised by the BWPPI. It is a great value for the money. We stayed in a mini-suite -- 2 queens with a sofabed, separated by a half wall. It is not a separate room, but definitely enough room for a family of 4 or 5. We found it to be clean and well maintained. The microwave and fridge were handy. Staff was very friendly. Didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast but that was a nice bonus offered.

The best part is the walk to the park. It is the closest hotel, except for the Grand Californian. I was loving just walking across the street and we were THERE!
