We will be staying at DLH from June 27-July 3rd and have a standard view room......can I make a request for a certain Tower....if so what are some suggestions..traveling with DH and sons ages 5 & 10.,..first time to DL..thanks~~

How far in advance can you make character dining reservations? Any suggestions? Breakfast or dinner...

Most people prefer the Sierra Tower because of its location and views. I would expect most of the rooms are considered view rooms since one side faces the Neverland Pool area and the other faces DTD and DL. The Marina Tower is next best in my opinion. One side faces the Neverland Pool. Many rooms on the other side have at least a partial view of DL, but many are considered standard views because they also look over parking areas. The Bonita Tower is the farthest from DDT and DL. High view rooms can be nice because they look over the Pool and pond areas and also offer a view of DL. However the standard views on the other side face parking areas and the PPH.

We've had a standard room res twice, and gotten Sierra both times. Once facing DTD and once facing the pool (both were pretty low floors though). we really liked Sierra being closest to DTD.

For meals, I think you can call 60 days out. For character meals, Goofy's Kitchen has the most variety - both food and characters. It's not cheap, but most feel it is the best character meal. You probably can't count on any certain character at Goofy's besides Goofy - they change a lot. We've seen close to 10 different characters at one meal.

We've also done the character breakfast at Storyteller's (only 3 characters, not much food variety, but pretty calm), Plaza Inn multiple times when it was Pooh and friends (it is a princess breakfast now), Ariel's lunch at DCA (not sure who the character is now, the meal was ordered as a meal, no buffet), and the breakfast at PP (not bad when we went - Minnie, Max, Pluto). Lilo is either at the PP or DCA meal now, I think.

When I made my reservation for the end of August I was quoted $212 for a standard room and was told the rate would be $243 for Sierra Tower, so I think they are charging more now for that location or maybe because all rooms are either park view or pool view, as opposed to parking lot view in the other buildings which is the lower rate.
