DLH room requests?????

If I book five nights at the DLH with a "resort or pool view" room, it says pool view or downtown disney view. I assume this is the sierra tower, and I know I can request a downtown disney view but my questions are:
1. how likely am I to get this view?
2. can we see fireworks from there?
3. is it worth it?
Last year we stayed in the Marina tower with a parking lot view, and it was ok. my only reason to upgrade is if we can potentially see fireworks (that way if dd is tired we can be in the room......

Hi! I actually just called the DLH as we arrive on Saturday (yippee!!!) and the helpful people on this site tipped me off that room assigners take care of the assignments three days before. (I called at 8:30 this morning and she said they'd be doing it later today.)

My request was noted and she said that they do look at requests, so you might as well make it, since some people won't request anything so you're more likely to get what you want if you ask.

Anyway, I booked concierge level so I am guaranteed the Sierra tower, which was one on my concerns (I didn't want a room in one of the other towers and not want to walk to the lounge to access it!). What you're requesting, however, would just be view situation, therefore, you'd get the Sierra tower IF you got the DTD view. Otherwise, the other two wings ALSO have sides that face the pool so if you got "pool view" ostensibly you could end up in one of the other two towers.

You could request Sierra, however, and hope for the best! I recall reading you can see fireworks from at least one of the other towers, but I don't recall which or what the true view is. Might be "standard" parking lot view that happens to face DL and the fireworks area....I'm sure someone else can elaborate. Good luck!!

What floor were you on in the Marina tower? We were on the third floor parking lot view right above the entryway and we had a great view of the fireworks, I could even watch them while laying on the bed.
