We are heading for a quick trip to DL next week. Here's my dilemma. Where to stay? The cast of characters are myself & 2 children (4 & 3) and my sister & her 20 mos old. :grouphug: Do we go with:
GC for $169 a night
DLH for $159 a night
PP for $139 a night

These are standard view rooms. Our concern is the walk time back to the room. All the kids will need a nap mid day. Last time we stayed at CCI and enjoyed it, but were dead tired from walking to and from the room so much.

This is only a two day trip and it's my daughter's birthday. She'll be 3. Any suggestions? :cheer2:

Well shoot, if you can get the GC for just $10 more than the DLH, go for that. That would be your shortest walk by far, and it's beautifully themed.

i agree - if you can get the gch for $20 more than the pp i say go for the gch - you're minutes from everything and the hotel is gorgeous!

The only reason to choose anything other than the GCH is if you are all planning on sharing one room; the rooms are a bit small at the GC. But you cannot beat the location, and the price is great; usually the GC is much more expensive than the other two resorts, and with good reason. It is lovely, and so very convenient.
If the GC becomes unavailable, or you decide that you need a little more room, I'd go for the DLH. It's a little closer to DL, and it's more fun, especially for the children. You can usually take the Monorail from DL midday to cut down the steps a little bit. PP is probably a little closer to DCA (special entrance for guests), but the theming at DLH more than compensates for that. You'll probably spend more time at DL anyway.

I agree with CalGal -- if you can't do GCH, do the DLH. It's not much to look at on the outside, but DH and I really enjoyed our stay there.

GCH for $169???? Go for it! It is so very, very, very magical. You can pop over to your room to go pottie! The pool area is fabulous! No long trek back to the room when you are tired!

Take me! Take me! Take me!

How are you getting those rates? What time of year are you going?

And to answer your question GC is the best choice, for a short walk. The DLH is farther away, but has a cool pool... PP is not my favorite.

The Sierra and Marina Towers are closest. Therefore they are the most desirable and requested the most. The Bonita is maybe 1-2 minutes further, we actually prefer that tower. It always seems quieter and we enjoy the Koi ponds and waterfalls. You can have a nice view in the Bonita and Marina but can also have a view of a parking lot in either of those towers. The Sierra has the nicest views but many of them are premium and you pay more.

Definetely stay at the GCH for that price. Your little ones will appreciate how close it is. DLH is a walk believe me we did it and even the grownups were tired. And these are walking peoples! I wish I could of found those great rates! :cool1:

Thanks everyone! We made ressies for DLH. We're going 6/1 - 6/3. That rates for GC was thru Expedia. The DLH and PP rates were AP rates. We could only get the $169 a night at GC for 5/31 - 6/2 and we really wanted to be there for my DD's birthday on 6/3. Another time for GC! The walk is what I wanted to avoid, however the theming will be great for our little ones. So, for those interested, I got a lower level DTD view room at DLH for $159 a night. That doesn't include the tax & the $10 resort fee. I also found out the the $10 resort fee covers 2 cars for parking. Think someone asked that in another post. Anyone ever get an upgrade to upper level DTD view? Do you like the pool view or the DTD view?
