DLH or GCH stayed at both need input

The eternal GCH vs DLH debate!

Was Just there last week for 5+ daysand did the pool 4 different days. Wasn’t horribly crowded at all (although it was on the cooler side) we saw people from paradise pier but they weren’t over whelming the pool. On our spring trip when it was warmer the pool didn’t seem packed then either. Grab a Cabana if you can swing it!
Just gotta do what works best for you. DLH works best for us with little kids. We’ve stayed at both and with the kids we prefer DLH (cost is a minor issue for us). GCH does have better food options but DLH isn’t horrible. Most are likely referring to Goofys Kitchen which is more kid friendly but not as good food wise as story tellers. Tangora is pretty good, too strong of an Asian influence? I didn’t think so, you can always order the burger without the pineapple. We’ve got very picky eaters and have no issues at DLH with food. The room service menu has more “Traditional” options. The grab and go at coffee house isn’t bad either. We like DLH rooms better, as they’re more nostalgic and have more of a Disney feel. GCH rooms are nice, but they’re nice hotel nice.
They don’t really have that Disney touch. The pool area is bigger and better at DLH than GCH. GCH pools are smaller. Can’t beat the proximity to the parks at CGH though! But it’s not like DLH is a 30 min walk uphill both ways 😝 It’s 10 mins to the front gate, or hop on the monorail. Or, exit out frontier tower, walk down paradise cross the street and enter DCA through the paradise pier gate in less than 10 mins (or keep going and enter through GCH).
I do agree about DLH pool being better for younger kids. DD is a teen now and she loved the DLH pool growing up. I did just ask what pool she preferred and her opinion has changed from what hotel she likes. She used to always want to stay at DLH and sit in the tea cups while i checked in. We would always book goofy kitchen for dinner and it was close enough that we could go to the pool and then go get ready for dinner. We did have dinner at Storytellers last time we were there instead of Goofys and did not like the options. Like I said DD is picky and they did not have any kid options at the buffet you had to order items. She lives for desserts and they also did not have a variety. We are not doing Character dining or buffet dining for awhile now. Tangora Terrace used to have breakfast items iirc and items DD would like but the new menu is not somewhere we would eat to grab a quick meal. I guess we might be more GCH people than we thought.

We stayed at GCH last October and DLH last week. It was overcast during our stay and the DLH pools were never crowded. Food options were bad when we tried to get lunch one day. The sink was inside the bathroom with the toilet and shower which made it more difficult to get ready. But the room was bigger and we had a better view then when we stayed at GCH. However, if money is not an issue we would probably always choose GCH.

Interesting! We were there same time. What kind of room and what tower? We usually get a 2BR in the Frontier tower, but we've stayed in single rooms in Frontier, and 1BR suites in Adventure, and they all had sinks outside the toilet and shower. We actually once got a rare 1.5 bathroom in a 1BR suite....there aren't many of those. Most 1 BR suites are single bath.
We were in a single room, premium view, 2 queen beds, in the Frontier Tower. There were 5 people in our party. Our view overlooked the pool.

I've nearly always gotten a room at DLH that had the sink inside the bathroom. I generally stay in a regular room (not a suite) but always request Adventure (or Fantasy as my 2nd choice). The exception is suites--I love the Frontier suites with the balcony.
