I was at the DLR in November for Thanksgiving, and walking through the DLH, when I noticed the wall with all the old photo's of Walt, and celebrites of years gone by, was gone. I'm wondering if this was part of the "remodle" and if they will be put back where they belong?
I really enjoy looking at those items.

I agree, where did it go. I agree with most all of the changes but taking this display away would cause Walt to role over in his grave. Since I am,a share holder I am going to fire a note of to George and the chairman. We do not want DL to turn into a WDW with no legacy..another monorail cafe faux paux.

Jack

PS Hey Kylie17, nice to see you back

The picture wall is gone? Jack, feel free to add my name to you letter of inquirey to the Chairman. The wall of pictures is one of my favorite parts of our visit each time. It is bad enough they removed most of the disney art gallery, now they have removed the photo wall as well? What will they do next????? Let us hope it will be returned after the remodel is complete..:cool1:

Thanks for your response..based on the responses looks like a number of folks do not even have a clue.

Most people never knew it was there to begin with. We found it upon advice from a CM at a character breakfast one morning at Goofie's. She gave us a number of tips for making our stay more enjoyable. I do hope they bring it back after the remodel, it was very enjoyable..:cool1:

Just curious why you have to take pot-shots at WDW so frequently in your comments? Walt may have passed away before it was completed, but it was his idea to build it and it is only 16 years younger than DL. Why don't you insult ALL the other Disney parks instead of only singling out WDW?

I have only been here for a few years and I have never been to WDW world but I have seen my fair share of negative comparisons(which should not happen) between the two I could puke. Since I have been going since 55 I have grown up with Disneyland and my family to this day still do not wish to go to WDW, they know the history better than most. I will stand up to voice a gentle opinion about the people who post just to try and get a rise out of anyone hear and then they run..
I think WDW(which maybe changing to just Disney World) in the near future and I invest in the Disney corp and have for many years so I hope WDW it is extremely successful. I think my responses(WDW) are less than .06% of all my responses in relation to total. I get many PM's from diser's thanking me for standing up to some of the WDW posters opinions..just me.
When people post "convince me to go to Disneyland" you see me respond in kind if you enjoy WDW go there, makes for less crowding when I am there.
I am an honest person both my wife and I work 2 jobs a piece just to be able to afford a yearly vacation at Disneyland, can never afford WDW for a place I personally view as a knockoff.
I do not expect anyone to agree with me, I do not were my feelings on my sleeve.
Last few years I have had a couple of guys who said they would like to talk to me about my opinions about WDW, time and place given..funny they never showed. I have been banned twice now on the WDW board but never here.
Since I am snowed in today this allows me to take some time to write back to you..
Walt being a simple man, I think, would roll in his grave.

Have a great day, PM me if you want to talk.

Jack

Sorry if this is jumbled, have to do this from an iphone.

Interesting that you have never been to WDW. I was just curious.

And FYI...for millions of people WDW does have a legacy...including a legacy of Walt being excited about the possibilities in Florida not to mention all the personal family moments that are tied up in the place.

I just don't understand why people feel the need to be so dogmatic about it.

Plenty of people enjoy the things at DL that have been added since Walt's passing, just like people enjoy all the other parks around the world.

Darn, just lost the triste I was working on. I spent many days with WalT and Lillian, and his producers when younger 9-18 before VN. My uncle worked for Walt in his early TV shows and the start of WDW. I remember many conversations he had with the producer that were not public and he was not an easy individual to mwork for. I ate off his plates, he drug me around the studios showing me eveything he could, I have so many fond memories of him, Lilllian, Bob Larson, Larry and others. I could tell you stories about Hollywood in the sixities that would make your hair curl..but on with the show.
He wanted people to come and enjoy and have family fun. I am 65 and I am like a little kid when I get my token yearly vacation(for the most part). I believe go where you have the most fun and enjoyment and I will surely accept a plane ticket, park ticket, accomadations to come visit the World...ANYONE OUT THERE.

I have a very open mind and love to learn, just getting a bit slower. Maybe I have missed but do not remember any post from people going to Paris and the like, and then DIS DLR being so negative as some are. In the last four years one of my children have been hurt at DLR by stroller nazis and just plain nasty folks, I do not shove that down peoples throats. Dogmatic, people who read my post and people who know me don't think so, but that is your choice, I am not a person who wears my emotions on my sleeve.
I was called a crusader by a dude in KC because I cold conked a loud mouth manner years ago when he would not stop swearing, I tackled a shoplifter in DTD when the cops were casing him when others just stand around do not want to get involved, cost me 4 hours of my park time at APD, but it was worth it..goes along with one of my professions..

Too much rambling, everyone join me in becoming a Disney shareholder so when the original crew and I am dust, our children and childrens children can enjoy what ever park they wish.

PS, WHAT KIND OF VEHICLE DO YOU DRIVE, MAKE MODEL YEAR

Again from the phone, sorry

Jack

Thanks, I know I am a bit to straight up for a lot of people but I grew up with the park and i do feel it is mine. Think folks so just go where it makes them happy, quit comparing the destinations they are all different..many people think they the history of WDW and what went on behind the scenes and they do not.
Like I said I will accept a trip back so I may see what are differences other than online.

I bet I may be the only person who posts here that was there on that hot miserable opening day..he did not give up, he just kept thinking about ways to make it better experience for all.

Thanks for the support and hope this is not a double post, having inet problems here with the weather..still freezing rain.

Everyone have a great evening and enjoy what is most precious..your family and friends.

Jack

I all honesty i had expected the Disney experts who usually respond with in a minute to post on this subject..I guess it was only for the old folks like me and some of the younger like Kiley17 and hooty..really too bad, many years of photo history gone somewhere, hopefully not forever.
Looks like the experts are stumped.

Jack, Thanks for your support of this thread.
I always respect your opinon's, and feel the same as you, about Walts park, that's I've been going to since 1976.. It's my second home.
I always shed a tear as I walk under the tunnel, and enter Mainstreet... so many great family memories have been made there....

:wizard:

Does anybody know about the wall of pics? Will it be brought back?

Jack: being correct is a terrible burdon. I hope you can find the strenth to carry on. I too, have been waiting on the Disney Experts to chime in with their valued opinions. Maybe it is difficult to argue with the truth. I for one will be sure to take my Geratol and Centrum Silver tonight when I turn in tonight, as to help keep my strenth up. :cool1:

Very funny and it is never a burdon. I was raised to understand, honesty, intregrety, ethics, and morals but if you look at the way the world is today, it has been a lost art for a long time

Hootey, Thanks for your support to my thread, you are very funny!:rotfl2:

Let me start with the topic of the thread the OP wanted to hear about.

A while back I read something about the things on the wall. I can't remember if this was just what someone thought or sourced from somewhere that is somewhat official. IIRC it is going to be saved for when a new area can make use of it. Maybe related or said somewhere altogther different somone else said those items were going in CCT. Of course there were plenty of rumors about CCT that never materialized.

You can look at historical documention and find Walt built his park for his daughters and us to enjoy with our families. He built WDW so he could build an utopian urban center called Epcot, with concessions from Florida in exchange for building DL2 there. WDW was built to capture and profit off the new DL in ways he couldn't in Anaheim.
