DLH - is it really that bad?

Koi: we did see that sign. Made no difference to us, with a 5 year old and excited parents, we weren't going to be anywhere near the hotel at 9:30am!

Homeless person on Harbor: see that doesn't bug me. On the walk I see tourists, people on their way to and from work, and once in a while a person without a home sleeping on a bench (haven't yet needed to step over anyone). Then again, I live in downtown Tacoma, so I'm cool as long as no one is being menacing or doing a drug deal obviously around me, LOL. Not that there's a lot of that in downtown Tacoma, but there's far more of it than on Harbor or Katella, from what I've seen.

Going through GCH: every time we went to DCA (except for the morning we were there at opening) we went through GCH. We were generally heading towards TSMM (or Grizzly, but the line was obnoxious every time) anyway, so we figured that even if we lost time going through the hotel (entering before Sephora and across from Haagen Dasz) we made it up by being right there at Grizzly. :) So just b/c you stay at DLH doesn't mean you can't go through GCH to get to DCA.

I'm all over the place when it comes to DLH. I like it, but liking it doesn't diminish the value of HoJo etc for me. :)

I like the DLH. I do prefer the GCH, but it is the more relaxing getaway atmosphere that I like there. The DLH is my 2nd choice after the grand. We stayed there in February and enjoyed it. The DLH does seem a little more magical, and the pool area does seem to be more fun for kids. It seems as though there is more pixie dust at the DLH. Just don't go and expect the rooms to be in pristine condition as it is an older hotel, but they do seem to keep it up well. Go and have a fun time!

Oh, and the wallpaper border in our room (aka pixie dust) did NOT glow in the dark!!!!!
