Hi! Staying one night at the DLH, already paid. Will I be charged a security deposit at check in? Trying to be prepared! Thanks!

When I pre-pay or pay in full at check-in for a stay at one of the DLR hotels, I let them know I don't want any charging privileges.
Doing this I haven't had to add a credit card to our account or pay any type of security deposit.

You might want to call the hotel and ask just to be sure.

No, they don't charge security deposits at Disney hotels. I've done plenty of one night stays.

They've never charged a security deposit for us. We never prepay and I do use charging privileges. I have also paid with both a debit card and credit card before and never a security deposit.

This is one of the most customer-friendly aspects of staying at a Disney resort. I haven't yet stayed at DLR, but have at WDW resorts lots of times, always with charging privileges, sometimes package-booked & sometimes room-only, multi-night & single night, paid sometimes via credit card and sometimes via debit card, and have never been charged a security deposit.

No security deposit but like every hotel they will "pre authorize" you credit card for a certain amount. It is not a charge, it is just essentially an inquiry to make sure a charge would be authorized should there be any incidental charges to the room.

That is why they advise AGAINST using a debit card...cuz on a debit card that pre authorization amount can actually be held from your account for several days.

I have never had Disney do a preauthorization on my debit card, and I usually pay with a debit card.

Other hotels, yes, but not a Disney resort.

They will not "charge" a security deposit but you need to be ready for them to pre-authorize (money is "held" for merchant, so you can't access it in your bank account if done via debit, but not given to merchant by credit/debit company) a security deposit type charge no matter what payment method you use. If they don't great, but if they do require your credit/debit at check-in that way you're ready. Pre-authorizations can be a pain for debit cards if you run a tight account so I would NOT gamble on it- go ready for a pre-authorization (because hotel policies do change- you don't want to be the first to find out!).

When you make a reservation they charge the first night. They always do a "preauthorization" on my credit card when I check in. I would be concerned if they didn't, simple because people could give them cards that didn't have funds available.
