We are staying at the DLH in a studio in a couple weeks. We can check in online in a few days. Is that when I can make any requests? If so, what are some of the options? Also, when we arrive, do we have to go to the front desk at all? If not, how do we actually get into the room? We are used to using magic bands at WDW. Also, how and when do we pay the TOT? Thanks for any help!

Room requests you chat in or call DVC MS to give them the request.

They have a little kiosk in the lobby of the VDH tower where you can check in and/or get physical room keys. But if you do online check in you can use your DLR app to open your room (not to be confused with the MDE app for WDW) Magic Band wont open your room at CA resorts.

You can pay at the little kiosk anytime from check in to check out however, if you check in online and load a credit card it will be billed to your card automatically so no need to stop. I always stop and pay it with a Disney Gift Card.

Have a great stay!

I didn't know any of this! I assumed we had to check-in at the Fantasy tower. Nice!

Can we still drop our bags with bell service outside when we arrive if we want and then go straight to the DVC tower?

The person at the Discovery tower, is it the person that is standing at a podium kind of facing the elevators? I tried to find picture/video but didn't see one.

But when we were there, a CM was standing near here. Is that who we check in it?

Also, did they get rid of these chairs/table and rug? Because I don't remember seeing them during our visit.

Bag check is still in the main DLH tower.

Yep that’s the kiosk, right next to the sofas.

When you walk into the tower, you see this view with the couches, but you can see these chairs in the back right of the image, it's around a corner.

I could have sworn the chairs around the corner weren't there in December. That's where the guide was standing. I have a horrible memory so I asked my husband and he doesn't remember the seating area there either. So his memory must be just as bad as mine. Ha!

When I was there, which was a few days after you, the guides were standing where I put the red box. I went during their holiday open house, so maybe they were standing in a different area than normal, but they were positioned just after you walk into the lobby.
