Does anyone know the 'average' cost of a night's stay at the DLH?

I'm trying to do the math for a 3 or 4 nights stay, second week of June for 3. We feel it's a great price (taking advantage of the 25%/half board deal) but would also like to know the average price and just what we might be saving. ;)

TIA! :goodvibes

3 yrs ago we paid £1100 for 3 nights/4 days for 3 adults and that was with 50% off NHS discount

It's hard to gauge as the prices fluctuate constantly.

We paid £1500 for 4 nights first week in June, and paid similar amount last September. However, they now seem to be doing a half-board type of offer now.

We believe ours was close to half price, but you also have to take into account it's more expensive at holiday times of the year.

Great, thank you! :)

Johnny...that's about the same price I'm coming up with (converting, euros and pounds to US dollars) for 3 nights. It's $2800 (£1820 or 2200€) for 4 nights (2adults/1 eleven YO) with premium half board...does that seem fair?

Of course, it always boils down to if I'm comfortable with paying the price, then the 'deal' doesn't much matter...but the miser in me likes to know if its average, a good deal or if I've been taken in a sneaky-free-meal way. :hyper:

That seems fair to me.
Yes you are right if you are comfortable with the price, I have seen it over £3000 for 4 nights in the past for a standard room which is just crazy.
However, if out of peak season you can like us get a significant saving it is in my opinion worth it, for location, you get your tickets included and the fab breakfast.
The decor and attention to detail is great too, and it's just a couple of minutes from the park gates.
I actually like the Ground Floor standard rooms as the one's we have had have a nice outdoor patio, assuming the weather is pleasant of course.

Brilliant, thanks again! :thumbsup2

I especially like the insight of those who have stayed there before, as you know the hotel and accommodations, and can give a fair opinion based on the somewhat crazy price. :rotfl:

As your signature mentions, our son also has Autism and I have to imagine the mere proximity the hotel has to the park will suit him nicely, and hopefully relieve some of the stress and chaos that a long walk back or buses can create after a long day.

Sooo looking forward to staying there, booking this week! :lovestruc

We stayed at the DLH in March for 4n/5d so very much off-peak.

We booked using the 2n free offer and I believe it was around £1200 for 2d and 1 free child.

I found this to be an acceptable price (although probably shouldn't have looked at Cheyenne first, £450 for the same deal!).

We absolutely loved the DLH - it was our first stay here and can now not imagine staying anywhere else. The location is its main selling point, being able to pop back throughout the day was a godsend - especially in the freezing cold weather!p

Hi again,

Yes it's the proximity that really is the icing on the cake, though I love everything about the hotel having the park just moments from your room is priceless.
On our countless holidays to Florida we have generally stayed offsite in a villa, but having that journey to the parks plus the high temperatures has often meant Joshua doesn't want to go out later in the day.
He is just the opposite when we stay at the DLH - partly because it's cooler and not fatigued by long flights etc (he has been quite ill on our last 2 long haul flights), but because he knows the park is so close to the room he seems to enjoy the fact we can be there in a few minutes, and also we can spend longer at the parks than any of the WDW one's.

I cannot recommend the west wing ground floor rooms enough for location, and if you are lucky with the weather you get that nice little patio to enjoy too.
The whole experience of this hotel is just great, not to mention a cool drink at the Cafe Fantasia bar!

That seems a very reasonable price to me considering it's for 4 nights and includes premium half-board!

Enjoy your stay there! :cloud9:

I paid £800 for 2 adults for 3 nights with tickets on expedia last December. There was a 40% offer on when we booked and expedia was cheaper than booking direct.

Loved the hotel :goodvibes

Yay, thank you! We planned to bite the bullet anyway, but makes me feel a bit better when others say it seems fair. :rotfl:

Booking today...ACK! So excited! :yay::cheer2:
