DLC Transfers

I've heard that you can check in at the Welcome Center for your cruise at MCO if you are taking the DCL tranfer. Can anyone confirm if they are still doing this? We are staying at the Hyatt the night before.

What time does the Welcome Center open? Also what is time does the earliest bus leave? If we can check in at the airport I'm not as concerned with being on the earliest bus, but I do want to be on the boat as soon as I possibly can. I plan to be at the Welcome Center as soon as soon as it opens.

We did this last week - Disney will tell you that it opens at 8:30, but we went down there at 8:00 and it was already open with only a handful of people in line. I've heard people say that it opens at 7:30, but we went down there the first time at 7:30 and it wasn't open yet.

You go to the Disney's Magical Express counter and you'll be directed to a cast member who is checking in DCL cruisers. It's on Level 1 of Terminal B (the same side as the Hyatt). Make sure you tell the Hyatt when you check in the night before that you will be going on DCL the next morning. They will give you a form to complete to give to the Disney cast member and they will also put your name on the list to pick up your luggage from your room and send it to the ship.

We were able to get on the first bus, which left at 9:30AM. After you check in, they give you a card with a character on it, and then a boarding number for when you get to the port. We were first bus and boarding group 2. They started boarding around 11:45ish and we were on the ship 15 minutes later (that included the welcome family photo). I think it's definitely worth it!

I just wonder if the bus times leaving from MCO will now be pushed back an hour with the new port opening times. Starting August 2nd the port will now open at 11:00 instead of 10:00 am.

We arrived at the Welcome Center, checked in and then sat down by the windows, waiting to line up for the bus. I would grab something to eat and bring it with you before you check in and eat while you are waiting for the bus.
We got our boarding number once we lined up to get on the DCL bus.

We got in line to check in at the counter about 8:45, checked in, went over to the waiting area, they have chairs, and sat down. About 9:30 a cast member made an annoucement to line up, we did, got our our #2 boarding pass, waited about 5min and then walked to the bus.

A little off topic, but we usually go from a Disney World Resort to the terminal. Each time we have done that we get to the terminal between 1:00 and 1:30. Even though we have gotten there with a large group of people we have checked in and gone straight onto the ship. In this process, the our stateroom is already ready when we get there and we are able to get comfortable right away. I know that a lot of people like to be on the ship early, but for us this works extremely well.

I was wondering that too. I guess I'm not so concerned with that as long as I can get a low boarding number.
