Greetings to all from sunny Disneyland! 
Some of you might remember that we are WDW vets, but have never been to DL before. Thought I'd take a few minutes to give you a quick VMK report.
Because of the guide on the 'sticky' (thanks, Mal!), I was well prepared for the four quests (Had the tomorrowland printed and ready to go). We brought the quests back to the room (HoJos) to fill them out and turned them in the next morning. It was a good thing that we had the spoilers because we didn't know most of the answers and would have spent the entire four days of my once-in-a-lifetime trip running around trying to find the answers and still wouldn't have gotten them all right. One of the quest folders has a sticker over the last qustion saying that they are 'working' on the answer so it is a 'free' correct (can't remember which quest this was). Turning them in and receiving that big stack of cards was painless and very exciting!
Then, last night we took the tour, and it was awesome. Can't give you all the details just yet (still in my pjs...need to get ready...today is our last day at DL). I will write more about the tour when I get home and/or answer any questions. The Mansion is indeed down for the holiday decoration install, but the Pirates quest was cool and it was so awesome getting the brand new and still rare pirates prizes. My son was waiting anxiously at home for my codes..lol! If you see Gamebot strutting around with his very cool and rare bird hat, say hi and make over that cool hat!
On the tour you get to see sketches of lots of the things to come on VMK, and our guide was chatty and free with the inside info that he had. In addition to the pirate's quest loot that you win on the tour (if you answer the question correctly...thanks again, Mal), I was able to answer two of the trivia questions that were asked (verbal), and I won a tent room and a pair of train teleporters! I've wanted those teleporters since I started on VMK!
I'd better get ready to go. I am starting to get looks from the others!
Big doings going on today! Several big rides and shows that we have yet to do, and we have riverside seating for Fantasmic tonight!

ANYway, glad you are having such a great time. You picked a good time to go, it just cooled down recently (unseasonally, I might add). It has been so, so hot here lately. Enjoy all your VMK loot when you get home. I'm hoping to bring some home on Sunday (I've only done the Tomorrowland Quest, so we will turn in the others on Sunday). I'm not sure when we'll do the tour, but please tell us all about yours when you get back!
