We (myself, DH, DS 18 and DS 22) have reservations for April 2,3, and 4 (Mon, Tues, Wed) at the GCV. We will be driving on April 2, early in the a.m., from DS's apartment in Tarzana, CA. I guess we will be checking in to the resort and getting our ticket vouchers exchanged for tickets before heading to the park - correct? Will we have trouble parking? We may have 2 cars - is that a problem?

My next issue is on Wednesday. We were going to see whatever we may have missed the other two days. But I was able to get us tickets to America's Funniest Videos 100K show in Manhattan Beach. My guys like that show and I thought it sounded like a good idea, but it definitely makes our Wednesday more hectic, we have to dress up and we may be waiting in line and at the show for a long time. Then, we still have to drive back to Disney to stay the night. Then, I guess we will use our 3rd day pass on Thursday, check out day. I don't really like this idea because of all the driving.
Would you do it?

We have done it both ways. Hectic, drive-around-a-lot vacations. And slow it down and stay-in-one-place-for-awhile vacations. I prefer the latter. What you describe sounds like a lot of effort. I would feel differently if you were not doing the early morning drive from Tarzana on day 1. But right now the way you describe it just does not sound very fun.

I realize everyone is different. But if it was me I would drop the TV show idea.

To me, there is little else that is as much fun as a day at Disneyland, so I wouldn't want to trade a day at the parks for a TV show. I have friends that aren't as Disney-enamoured as I am that are happy with a couple of days at the parks, but that's not me. There are so many really fun things to do in the parks, I wouldn't want so much time away.

Thanks! That's about what I thought and, hopefully, my guys won't be too disappointed.

If anyone is still reading this thread, can you give me an answer about the parking for 2 cars at the GCV (see my first paragraph above)?

Thanks!

I did not want to answer because I do not know for sure. There is a lot across the street and I imagine you could pay for the second car - I think it is like $15 a day. I would call the GCH and ask.
