DL trip soon/ cheap rental car

For anyone going to DL soon and wanting to rent a car.

i used the email offer from Alamo, for $40 off weekly rate, and the weekly rate for a compact was $99.99/week. With all taxes and fees, after the coupon, it was about $75. This was from John Wayne airport.

Have you used alamo before.. We only have experience with avis.. Can i just sign up to get email offers or do i have to be a member or something.
