We are booked on Disney's Mexican Riviera Cruise next January. We would like to fly in 2 or 3 day early & do DL & CA. Where should we fly into? Does Disney have a bus that we can take to the port?

Since the whole Disney cruise thing is new to us west coasters, I'm not sure if they've established transportation from the parks to the port. I know there are 3 different possibilities for airports: Orange county, LAX and burbank? I'm not sure which is closest, easiest or cheapest since we drive.

If you can fly on Jet Blue, I would suggest flying into Long Beach. It is small and easy to get in and out of. You can take a cab to the resort area for about $35.

Can't really comment on transportation to the port, but I would fly into Orange County (AKA John Wayne I think) then take the disneyland express to your hotel. I believe that is the closest airport to the park.

Thanks for the replys. We actually have free ticket vouchers thru United that we are going to use so that helps out tremendously! I think what we will do is fly into John Wayne & fly out of LAX since it is closer to Port, right? How many days do you reccomend at DL/CA? We've visted once before for 1 day but I'd really like to take my time & enjoy it more this time. Plus, we will have a DD now & she will be almost 2 then.

It really depends on how much you want to see and experience. Will you just ride things you DD can? Or do child swap and ride big rides also. IMO, it takes 2 full days to do DL and 1 full day to experience CA. Although, if you want to ride anything twice, you could spend a lot more time than that. Also, your pace will be slower with a little one. Now, if you don't go on everything and pick and choose, you could do it in less.

We find 4 days about right to do everything, sometimes twice, and still have time for rests/pool time, etc.

We just booked the Mexican cruise today! And I had a long discussion with the CM about transportation and the cruise/DL...

They HAVE transportation to/from LAX and the 3 DL hotels to/from the port!!!

We will be doing DL after the cruise, so we are down for from LAX to port and then from port to DL (do not have hotel yet).

Hope that helps.

I believe the Wonder will be in San Pedro, which is the Port of LA, but it's closer to Long Beach than LAX. You can check it out on Google maps.

I like at least 4 days, preferrably 5 (or more). Yes people will tell you that you can see the park in 2-3 days, and you can see it in that amount of time. But IMHO it doesn't leave time for relaxing and enjoying at actually being at DLR. It's more of hit the major attractions and move on kind of trip. There's so much detail that you'll miss if you rush through it. Of course if the other choice is not to go, then I'd do the 2-3 days. (Heck I'd go for one day if that's all I had!)

Have a great time! You'll love the Wonder she is a beautiful ship!
