Does DL have a special diets department like WDW does? If yes, where do I find contact info to get the latest and greatest allergy lists? If no, I guess I still need to know where to find the latest and greatest allergy lists.

I looked through the FAQ and found the DL page which had a link to a thread on gluten free dining at DL. I know that things can change any time and the info in that thread isn't very recent plus we have to deal with more than just gluten. The thread is helpful but it's just best to get the latest and greatest info when it comes to allergies.

Thank you!

I don't have contact information for Disneyland other than this, which is posted on the official DL website:
Special dietary needs — including vegetarian and medically restricted diets — can often be accommodated at select table-service restaurants. Please request special meals at least 24 hours in advance at (714) 781-DINE (3463).

There is a video on youtube where 2 Chefs from Disneyland were interviewed about food allergies. It is 2 years old, but I think the information is still correct. The basic message was:
- come to any restaurant. No need to call ahead. Ask to see the chef on duty and the manager or chef will speak to you.
- for allergies, we have special cookware so we can make sure there is not cross contamination.

If you find out something else, please post it and I will add it to the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

I stole this from a different site, but I hope that it might help you some.
" Most table service restaurants at the Disneyland Resort can accommodate special diets, including kosher, vegetarian, and medical diets. You should request this service at least 24 hours in advance, or at the time you make your Priority Seating, by calling 714-781-DINE (3463). "

Thank you both. I do feel confident with the TS options being safe but I worry about the CS locations. Not so much the safety of them but just how much will be available. Because DD12 who has the big list of intollerances is also autistic, I try to plan ahead of time just what is actually available at what location so I can let her know her options up front in order to prevent meltdowns. I'm a very OCD planner partly because I know just how much smoother vacations go when I do plan this way.

I'll definitely update you with any info I find. I'll try calling the number a little later. The office doesn't open until 7am PST. Those of us on the east coast tend to forget that there are time differences elsewhere so I got a recording when I just called. LOL

Well, I gave them a call. I'm so frustrated. They can't even give allergy information about things like popcorn. I was told to ask for the nutritional information at each and every location including the carts if I need to know allergy info. I'm right now wondering if we should even bother with DL or not. One of the big reasons we go to WDW is the dining. DL now seems to be no better than any other amuzement park so why spend my money there? Yes they do have the accomodations for DD12's autism and I know the TS locations will take care of us, but I feel as though we'll have to brown bag every single thing we want to eat through the day which is not what I'm looking for in a vacation. I can go places much closer to home and do that. Ugh!!!!

I have heard over and over agin how much better WDW is over DL, but now I'm begining to think its true. I'm sure you can take food in to the park if it's for special diets, but like you said, it's vacation, who wants to do that. I found this page taht might help you a little. It has the menus for the QS places at DL. maybe you can at least get an idea. http://themouseforless.com/tripplanning/menus/dl/menus.shtml#DCA
