DL/southern CA and wildfires !!

I am so sorry to hear again about all the recent fire problems in the area. We are thinking of a DL/southern CA trip early next summer, are there any problems with hotels?
I do not want the fire problems to be a deterrent to our coming to CA, but it is a little nerve racking...
We are thinking of DL and maybe the Carlsbad or San Diego areas...were there many problems in either area?

I don't know about fire issues in the southern portion of the state, but be secure in knowing that DL and it's surrounding "Good Neighbor" hotels are in the middle of a large plain and there are no chances of wildfires getting anywhere near them. Early summer isn't the best time for fires, anyway, as there is still enough moisture from winter rain and the occasional spring rains.

That being said, the air quality wasn't the best after the fires, the other week, but it didn't stay that way for long, as the winds changed course.
