We have someone who is going to buy us these tickets. Will we have to show So. Ca. ID at the park? I don't want him to waste his money if we won't be able to us them.

Answered my own question! I called Dl and they said you have to show Id to purchase not for admission!

Ok so say if I were to purchase tickets for some people out of town who were not So Cal residents They don't have to show ID when we enter the parks?
(just makeing sure! We had the same question! Thanks!)

That is absolutely wrong, and words is that DL is going to step up ID checking at the parks this summer.

DL does not typically check for SoCal ID because it will slow down lines entering the park; during the afternoon, some CM's start checking.

Use the ticket at your own risk. The rules are very clear that you need to be a SoCal resident to purchase and use.

I read the fine print on one of the ads for this and it said you could buy up to 8 tickets with the same ID so that sounds like you can buy the tickets for people who live outside the area.

I call DL and specifically asked if I could use these tickets if someone bought them for us and they said yes. You need ID to purchase.

Feel free to rely on misinformed cast members....

Here we go again. Do we rely on the information from Disneyland itself that says So Cal residents can purchace tickets for famiy and friends, or the boards that say no matter what the cast members say No is the answer. It's frustrating. I called twice and asked specifically if NON So Cal residends can use the tickets if purchased by (in my case) my sister. She said Yes ID required at point of purchase NOT for admission. I said that I was being told that gate CM's WERE checking and what to do if that happens? She said go to Guest services and they should take care of it whatever that means.

You shouldn't rely on either. E-mail Disney corporate, like I did. I copied the e-mail above. It's very clear.

And the rules on the back of the ticket are clear as day.

I go to Disneyland often. In the afternoon when the turnstiles are not busy, they do check ID and I have seen people turned away.

Then they need to change the fine print for the offer on their website. If they are advertising that one SoCal ID can buy 8 tickets (which i presume to mean that you can buy for people without SoCal IDs because otherwise, why would they need to specify that) then they should honor that, even if the "official" word from corporate or whoever says differently. It sounds like they just all need to be on the same page whatever the policy is.

Incorrect!

Tickets valid for Southern California residents within Zip Codes 90000-93599 and Northern Baja California residents within Zip Codes 21000-22999. Proof of residency required for admission.

The above is CLEARLY stated in the description for the SoCal Summer Fun Pass (this is also the same verbage they use for other SoCal discounted tickets).

There have been reports with prior SoCal Resident promotions, and I have seen it happen myself while waiting in line at the Main Entrance to go play in the Parks, that some Main Entrance Cast Members ARE asking for a SoCal ID from someone in your group on the first day of use. As long as ONE person in your group has a SoCal ID and are entering the Parks with you, you should be good to go (unless this changed also, I have asked for clarification). The Main Entrance does reserve the right to check for SoCal ID on the first day of use, most Cast Members don't but some will.

I am also looking at the actual ticket itself (I have one and it's the paper kind) and it also clearly states, "Valid Proof of So Cal Residency and Ticket Required for Admission". I imagine the plastic version sold at the Disney Stores and local supermarkets will also have that statement as well on it.

EDIT: I got an e-mail yesterday stating that the Main Entrance WILL be asking for ID on the first day of use... however, it did not say if only one person in your group needed to have it or if everyone needs to have one (I would guess that it's the former still, not the latter)... so non-SoCal buyers/users beware!

I called A THIRD TIME BTW, to inquire about the rules. All 3x I have been given the SAME information: ID to purchase, NO ID to use. I called Guest Services, and ticketing. I said to the guy "Many on boards are saying that NO ID is asked if it's busy but during afternoon slow time many are stopped and asked for ID" HE said "NO sometimes MILITARY tickets are asked to show ID if names are printed on the tickets. Furthermore I (meaning the guy on the phone) work here and I know the rules and I should stop listening to the people on the boards" I said OK. So let the debate continue........:dance3:
