Stupid me lost my sunglasses just as I was making the first turn after boarding Snow White... They weren't the most expensive pair, but still it was really sad since they were my favorite pair and I could see them lying up against the wall. When I told the CM at the exit, she said that they don't stop the ride for this type of thing, but I could come back when FL closes for the fireworks and check if the CM's found them during their walk-thru. Well, I couldn't make it back that night and I ended up buying anew pair to wear for the rest of the day...
After I got home, I gave it a few days and decided to call guest services/lost & found just to see if they were there. I spoke with a great CM named Paul and he said that if I could describe them really well, he might be able to find them... Well, I did and he found them:yay: He kindly put them into the mail and guess what arrived yesterday.... My glasses :cool2:
I am soo happy to have them back and thankful that they even made it to the lost and found. :goodvibes

Gotta love when something like that happens!

They were able to get DD's wallet back to us as well. It was minus the cash :sad1: but at least she didn't have to go through the hassle of getting a new drivers license and student ID. So another thumbs up to the lost & found folks at DL from me. :thumbsup2

I lost my prescription sunglasses on Indy and thought I'd never see them again. I checked at Lost & Found the next day and just like Disney magic, there they were! Disney lost & found is the best!

We had a Mickey ears Santa hat one year that got lost. Just for the heck of it we told Lost and Found and they mailed us a brand new one. Of course, the 3 cameras I lost at DL and WDW were never found!

My mom one night left her purse on the train. it is a backpack type and it was about 8 pm at night. I was on Indy and she had my DS 1 at the time. She realized it when she went to purchase a drink. The CM gave her the drink and she went to take her purse off. To realize it was not there. The CM still let her have the drinl and called to find out if it was found. Fortunately we were on the last train of the night and they found the purse and brought it to the main street station. Nothing was missing.. We were so happy. Since then she only takes a fanny pack and never takes it off.

On our trip to DL in June, my friend had her drivers license, credit card, cash etc in a plastic lanyard thing that attached to the end of the lanyard. While just about to go into the TOT, she realized that it was gone. She was frantic as it was all the money she had with her and could not board the plane to go home without a drivers license. She was just in tears and sat on the bench crying. We checked the Lost and Found and sure enough, it was there and everything was there. :yay:

Yay for Disney! :)

A word about the plastic lanyard holder - that happened to us, too! Our friend put his license and some cash in (and his car key, but then took it out, who knows why) and later realized it was gone. He freaked out. Who knows why he took his license out of his wallet, lol, but he did. He filled out a lost and found slip and they did mail it back! We laughed about the quality Disney merchandise as we had just bought it earlier.

I was a loser of sunglasses as well, but on Buzz. I was really impressed, though. I knew where I dropped them, so we told the people at the end, and someone immediately hopped on the ride with a grabber stick and found them! I was so impressed. I wanted to leave a nice commendation for them, but I forgot.

Another :thumbsup2 for DL Lost and Found! Last Jan. my then 8 yr. old nephew lost his lanyard (the velcro came apart and it fell off). It had a few pins on it but it contained his 3 day park-hopper (that he had only used 2 days). We realized it was gone when we went to enter CA to go to dinner at Napa Rose. He was beside himself (already tired and hungry, so this was the final blow). He was allowed to enter and we went to dinner, but he was distraught.

I went to Lost and Found at closing that night but was told that things weren't turned in until after closing so we'd have to check back in the morning. In the meantime, the cast member explained what my sister would have to do in order to get my nephew into the park the next day. Park hopper tickets aren't traceable and anyone who found it could have used it for one day's admission.

But :goodvibes , I called first thing the next morning and it had been turned in! We retrieved it and the day was saved!

This past summer I left a visor on the TOT on our last day. I went by LAF, left a description of it, and received it in the mail about a week later.

Kudos to LAF, but also to the honest park guest who turn things in, rather than keep them! That's why Disney IS the happiest place on earth! :cloud9:

My DD dropped her sunglasses right before we got on Peter Pan and they stopped the ride to retrieve them.... I didn't know they weren't supposed to! :rolleyes1

Maybe it was just how they were operating Snow White... I didn't want to be a pest and beg, especially since you could see them from where you boarded the ride...
It's soo nice to hear that others have had a good experience as well. It stinks when something is lost, but it's GREAT when it finally comes back to you! :woohoo:

WAAAAY back in 1961 I lost my brownie camera on the jungle boat (I think) - we have a picture before and after and i have the camera in the before picture ha ha.

WE left our name and address (in New York!) at DL Lost and Found and a bout two weeks later, out of the blue - a package arrived with the camera! We were all very impressed.

I have a good story for you.

My son who was probaly about 10 at the time found a gold Rolex watch at he DL Hotel. Well he turned it in to the front desk, and then they took him, and the watch to some head honcho. Anyways, they rewarded him with 3 items from the DLH gift store. pixiedust: He picked out a Mickey Tee, a kid's Mickey watch, and something else I can't remember. Now my son is 26 years old. Now I am teary eyed cuz I can still see him wearing that shirt. :sad1: Where does the time go??

Somethings you just never forget!!!!! :cloud9:

In all my past visits I have lost...
  • prescription glasses
  • sun glasses
  • prescription sunglasses
  • purse
  • credit card
  • wallet
  • hat
  • sweater
  • 2cell phones
  • countless pins
  • a sock

& all put one have been returned to me.

When I was at DL with a friend for her 50th b-day one time, she lost her sunglasses on Indiana Jones. We went back a little later, and they had us look through the lost and found box. (which was coincidentally enough, FILLED with mostly sunglasses!:rotfl2: )

None of them were hers, so the CM gave her a voucher for any Main St. shop to buy any pair she wanted.

She ended up with a really cute pair of sunglasses with a rhinestone Mickey head on the bottom of the glasses part.
