Ok next Friday is my big So Cal 08 Trip. Never have gone in May and was wondering what can I expect as far as lines go for DL/DCA? I plan on going to DL/DCA on Sat, Tue, and Thu. It's the week after mother's day and week before memorial week so im thinking it's not gonna be too crowded but also not quiet either. What do you all think?

The last several weekends have been jam packed. A lot of school groups. They started their band days the last weekend of April (I think they are called "Magic Musical Days" where they have large groups of jr high and high school bands in the parks. So I would expect Saturday to be very busy.

Tues and Thurs should feel a lot lighter, especially if you get to take advantage of MM on those days.

I kinda figured it would be crowded on Saturday, the usual weekend crowd because the park is open from 8 till Midnight but on Tuesday it's only open from 9 to 8 I believe and Thursday from 9 to 9. Was wondering if I should change Saturday to the following Friday when it's open till 11, but I still expect a bigger crowd on Friday before Memorial Day.

Eh, just be sure to get there before opening. The school groups aren't going to be there right off the bat, I wouldn't think. Do the tried-and-true 'early riser, collect fastpasses... take a break midday... come back after dinner and use those fastpasses after all the band kids have gone home."

Do you have Magic Mornings? That would make it even easier.

Hope you have a terrific time! Enjoy!:thumbsup2

yes i have one magic morning with my so cal city pass, gonna use that on tuesday most likely or should i use that on saturday, what do you think? thanks for your help too!

Ack! I'm going that weekend too! Yeah, I'm expecting Saturday to be busy, it usually is.. We're going to be there Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.. Hopefully it's not too bad, but you don't really know anymore...

I'll be there as well. My plane lands at SNA at 1:30 on Saturday. I plan to hit the parks that evening to take in the entertainment not offered the rest of the week (fireworks, electrical parade and Aladdin musical -- if i can make it on time).

I have a three day park pass which I believe comes with magic morning entry so I plan to take advantage of that on Tuesday. I'm hitting DCA on Mon (and probably DL that evening) and DL on Tuesday.

I am thinking of taking my guest from Oklahoma next Friday. I live about an hour away. I too was wondering what the crowds might be like.

I was there on Wed, the 7th. It was great. :cloud9: Low crowds and we got Dream FPs. :cool1: (Didn't even use them all up!). My DD is in year round school so she's offtrack this month. We will probably be there, again, one day next week.

As for the weekend, one positive on Sat. is most AP can't go (except for premium, we have deluxe) so you'll have less APH in the park. If we go on the w/e we go on Sun. and get there as early as possible. Then when DL starts to get crowded (11 a.m. ish) we cross over to DCA. We make sure to get our FP at DL before we cross and then get ones at DCA. Then when we cross back over to DL we get more FP. This works well for us. Oh, and now since the F&W Festival is over, DCA should return to their lower crowd levels. :goodvibes

Have a great time! The weather should be good next Saturday too-maybe even a little hot. :sunny: The weather the last few days has been cool (In fact we hit drizzle on the way to DLR on Wed.) but starting on Wed.(the 14th), we are in for a warming trend. Wed is expected to be about 80 with Thursday and Friday warmer still. Friday's high is expected to be about 87. Of course this is one the 7 day forecast and one thing about weather in So Cal-it can change at any time and the weather forecasters do make mistakes. If it is warm when you're there, make sure to get FP (as many as you can) for Grizzly Rapids. When it gets hot, the standby line can be 1-1/2 hrs., or more! :scared1:
