DL is prepped for Halloween! + park pics

I don't often visit the park on weekdays but a few friends were going and, they reminded me, today is the first day of the Haunted Mansion Halloween layover as well as the first week (it opened earlier this week) of Ghost Galaxy. Halloween is my favorite holiday and it was simply too hard to say no.

I hate opening times later than 8:00 but that was the hand I was dealt -- the park opened at 9:00 today. We rode PP, Mr. Toad and Dumbo. Then on to several games of Buzz, as per usual.

For those that wish to visit the Haunted Mansion, book for your Fast Passes early. We got ours via Max Pass at around 9:45 (45 minutes after the park opened). The return time was 12:40. Be advised -- they go fast.

The large planter in Tomorrowland outside of Buzz is gone and there's now considerably more room. But I sure hate to lose all of that quality seating. Oh well.

Thanks for the update and pics! Agree that I'll miss the seating in tomorrowland but something had to give I guess. I sure hope it will feel less congested now! Can't wait for our next trip! I haven't seen the Halloween decorations in 5-6 years!

How much of the main street facades are covered for refurbishment? From your pictures, it looks like a lot. They really should do a better job at staggering these.

It seems like more and more places/attractions are getting work done. Its starting to seem like just before the 60th anniversary. I can't imagine how many things will be down come mid January through winter and spring.

It's not actually that much. The Main Street Cinema is undergoing refurbishment so that is covered. No covering just past that over Market House. Then the Disney Clothiers shop and corner are covered but the shop is still open (just have to enter from the side near the lockers). The covering is gone by the menswear shop adjacent to the Clothiers.

Did you book a different fast pass before Haunted Mansion at 9:45? You can start booking them right away, right? Crazy the window had you coming back 3 hours that later right in the morning.

I hadn't booked any FPs prior to that. I didn't think FP demand for HM would be that high. Won't make that mistake again.

It's just a bummer to see anything obstructing one of the most iconic views in the world. That first glance down Main Street toward the castle is, at least for me, one of the best "We made it, we're here!" moments.

I too, will miss the seating. I sure hope they move the rockets back up to where they belong to really open up the entrance into Tomorrowland.
