DL in Late November

All right, it looks like I may be hitting the West Coast in November and I'm definitely wanting to tack on a little DLR action for the trip. Details are a little up in the air right now, but we would be meeting out there for my Sister's 40th birthday, ahem, my older sister.

Here's the down side: Her birthday is the 25th of November, two days before Thanksgiving, which puts this trip right around that window. So a plan floated today was to go out there ahead of time to do Firday & Saturday before Thanksgiving week at DL. I'm more of a WDW guy and am trying to get a handle on the crowd situation and such. I know Thanksgiving week could be crazy.

Any advice is helpful. Also, if anyone has any great ideas for something to do in LA area for a 40th birthday, feel free to chime in.

We have been the week before Thanksgiving, and the week after, and both have been wonderful times to go!

The week of Thanksgiving definitely will pick up in crowds, but there have been some posters, in the last year or two, who have reported being at the Resort over Thanksgiving, and loved it! Their reports have been enough to make us want to give going during Thanksgiving a try!

Hmm, so the plan may work then. I know DL gets more locals, therefore weekends are busier, but the Friday probably wouldn't be bad (that was my experience the one time I went there for a Friday to Sunday trip). I run WDW like a pro these days, but DL is still daunting to me.
